Meet Your Hosts

Callie Hietala (co-host, producer) has been with the William King Museum of Art since 2010 and has been involved with Art Speaks since 2011. Born in Marion, VA, she graduated from the College of William & Mary with a degree in English and Classical Studies. She joined the Museum as an intern and has since held a number of titles, including Van Gogh Outreach Instructor, Curatorial and Education Assistant, Director of Educational Programming, Curator, and is now in charge of tours and community programming. Outside of her work at the radio and the Museum, Callie serves on the board of the Wolf Hills Community School and on the Programming Committee for Bristol’s PUSH! Film Festival. She also referees FLL LEGO Robotics competitions, reenacts the Civil War, and occasionally gives ghost tours of historic downtown Abingdon.

Nick Koesters (co-host, engineer) grew up in Weaverville, NC. A graduate of Otterbein University, Nick has been a professional actor since 1994 and a member of Actor’s Equity since 2002. Before joining the Barter Theatre’s Resident Acting Company in 2011, he lived in Cleveland, Ohio where he performed in more than 60 productions including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Pseudolus), Fully Committed (Sam Peliczowski), and Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick). In 2013, Nick accepted the invitation to serve on the William King Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees and began co-hosting Art Speaks with Callie in 2014. In addition to his may roles on stage, Nick has also been seen in Spike TV’s Kill Point and in the Emmy-nominated children’s show Ask Gilby. He co-produced and starred in the independent film Will Work for Food.
