We're thrilled to share some exciting casting news for our 2022 season of THE NORMAL HEART by Larry Kramer!

We'll be welcoming some familiar faces and fresh newcomers to the State Theatre Company South Australia stage, including Ainsley Melham (Watershed, Aladdin), Michael Griffiths (Jersey Boys, Cole), Mark Saturno (A View from the Bridge, Hibernation), AJ Pate (recent graduate of the Elder Conservatorium). Evan Lever (Merrily We Roll Along, Muriel’s Wedding), Matt Hyde (Eureka Day, Macbeth) and Anthony Nicola (Decameron 2.0). More cast will be announced soon!

This magnificent cast will be joining Artistic Director Mitchel Butel (Mr Burns, Avenue Q), under the direction of Helpmann Award winner Dean Bryant, in this groundbreaking production documenting the fear and homophobia that surrounded the AIDS crisis in 1980s New York.

We're so honoured to be bringing Larry Kramer’s revolutionary and multi-Tony Award-winning work to a new generation. Today's announcement observes the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, recognising the current and historical discrimination faced by le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
