For the last week and a half, I was mostly offline and close to nature. First, I was working on the set of a short film “Summit” directed by my friend . We were filming for 4 days, deep in the Blue Mountains. Even when working, Blue Mountains’ nature is really refreshing and helps you reconnect. Then, .a and I went to Kangaroo Valley to relax and recharge our batteries.

No matter if I’m working or simply going away, being in nature is one of my favourite things to do to reset my system.

For the next couple of days, I’m going to focus on deep work and myself, from my “office on wheels”. I find it harder and harder to execute the actual deep work slots these days. And it doesn’t matter if you’re in an office, working remotely from home, or having your own studio - it’s easy to get distracted and just go with the flow of the ad hoc tasks. So in order to focus on plans, rethink the approach and ideas, find new solutions and simply let the brain breathe, I need to change the environment and disconnect as much as possible. So I’m sharing this post and going offline!

It’s Noisy Creations’ 3rd birthday today 🎉

This year, instead of making reels, summaries or stats, we’ve decided to take it easy. We’ve planned for a slow Friday afternoon to sit down, celebrate, eat some cake and simply appreciate everything that happened over the last year. It had its highs and lows, but the lessons learned are priceless.

Thank you all who have supported Noisy from the very beginning!

It is really fascinating what video content can do for marketing when it's done with a strategic approach. Whenever I start working on a new video project with a client, we spend a lot of time digging deep into the "why". It is also important for me to understand what is the video's place on the marketing strategy roadmap and what kind of results it should drive. More and more often, rather than just producing a one-off video, we're working on bigger projects to deliver content that works over a longer time and is set to achieving goals.

7 Trends in Video (marketing) in 2024!

Kicking off the work and plans for 2024 is a great moment to spend some time researching the industry trends and predictions. After a little bit of reading, I've picked seven things to look out for this year. Some of them are nothing new and have been there for a while now, and most of them aren't shocking at all however, some things are worth commenting on.

• It's interesting how AI is omnipresent and it's hard to talk about any industry without mentioning its influence. Many great AI tools help with video production, but it looks like its powers are not only limited to technology. ChatGPT and other generative tools can be used for scripting, storyboarding, shot listing - basically, anything creative. Is that a huge help or a threat?
• I'm really enthusiastic about the fact that video is becoming a more and more strategic asset when it comes to branding and marketing. This is something we always talk about with our clients when trying to align the videos with a wider spectrum of actions rather than just producing a one-off thing, that on its own may quickly become irrelevant.
• The average time to grab the audience's attention has come down to 2.7 seconds! That's a very challenging factor to work on.
• iPhone 15 with its LOG shooting capabilities is a real game changer when it comes to using smartphones for filming. Other than filmmakers, very few people even knew what shooting in LOG is! Now, all these pro-grade functionalities are in our phones!

Now, can video production companies keep up with that? As much as challenging can those trends be, they also present heaps of new business opportunities and ideas!

I've just wrapped up 2 intense days in Melbourne, filming a range of videos for KREMA. During those 2 days, we've filmed in 5 different locations around the city, producing 4 different types of videos, which I think is my personal best if it comes to the amount-of-footage to time ratio. But what I'm really excited about is delivering the videos that will drive the results for KREMA's new campaign launch. There's a looot of editing ahead and I can't wait for the videos to be done. For now, as I'm waiting for my flight back to Sydney - thank you KREMA for all the trust, and thank you Melbourne for the lovely two days!
