FRIDAY FLICK - 'The Polar Express' (2004)
Based on the popular children's book by Christopher Van Allsburg ('Jumanji', 'Zathura'), 'The Polar Express' is a timeless family film about a boy who is whisked away to the North Pole on a magical train.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis ('Back to the Future', 'Forrest Gump'), the film features Tom Hanks as multiple characters and is a brilliantly animated adventure using motion capture.
Trivia:
- The know-it-all all boy is voiced by Eddie Deezen (Eugene from 'Grease).
- If you look carefully, you can see that the train is powered by a Flux Capacitor (a cheeky nod to 'Back to the Future')
- The hobo on the roof of the Polar Express is, in fact, the ghost of a man who was killed in the Flat Top Tunnel.

STACK'S FRIDAY FLICK - 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' (1989)
What's your favourite scene? Comment below... ๐
When it comes to Christmas comedies, 'Christmas Vacation' takes the cake. Written by John Hughes, the film is the third entry in the Vacation franchise and has become one of the most popular holiday movies of all time.
Having driven across America in '83 and galivanted across Europe in '85, the Griswold family decide to spend their '89 Christmas at home with their extended families. Of course, nothing goes smoothly for poor old Clark, and catastrophe comes with his cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid)'s arrival.
Trivia: Chris Columbus was attached to direct the film before a clash with lead actor Chevy Chase forced him to step aside. Fortune smiled on Columbus, however, when John Hughes offered him the script for 'Home Alone' for his troubles.

STACK'S FRIDAY FLICK - 'Elf' (2003)
Can you believe it's been 20 years since 'Elf' was first released? Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Will Ferrell, the film was an instant hit and became a cult classic.
The story of Buddy, a human raised by Santa's elves who returns to New York City to meet his biological father (James Caan), showcases a series of hilarious mishaps, hijinks and very touching themes of togetherness.
The script for 'Elf' had been bandied around Hollywood for several years, with Chris Farley and Jim Carrey first considered for the role, and is said to have been much darker in tone. Director Terry Zwigoff was also offered the project but declined in favour of 'Bad Santa' (2003).

STACK'S FRIDAY FLICK - 'Spider-Man' (2002) ๐ท๏ธ
Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off in 2008, Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man' set a new standard for superhero movies, leading the way for all to follow.
The film arrived following decades of failed attempts by directors such as James Cameron, Tobe Hooper and Albert Pyun to adapt the comic book, but it became a blockbuster of epic proportions, earning a colossal $825 million from a budget of $139 million.
The movie spawned two sequels, with Toby Maguire's Spidey and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin later appearing in the MCU's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'.
