Tomorrow night on the show, our guest host will be the electronic artist, DJ, and founder of Melbourne-based label 'For The Record Label': Louay.
Louay Zoghaib (alias 'Louay') originally launched his music career in 2010, commencing a Bachelor of Arts degree (Specifying in Audio Production) at SAE. Whilst studying this course, Louay also gained some invaluable hands-on experience and technical skills from working at several esteemed recording studios in Melbourne – with notable examples being Oakland productions, and the respected 'Sing Sing Recording Studios'. He successfully completed his degree in 2013, and capitalizing on his combination of real-world experience and academic knowledge, Louay ventured forth as a freelance producer by seeking out and producing a multitude of different bands.
His own personal creations as a composer and producer spread over many genres and can range from classical, to contemporary, all the way to more electronica-oriented styles. Garnering critical acclaim from many different places, Louay has also received some key industry recognition and support from artists like: Darin Epsilon, Nick Warren, and Hernan Cattaneo. Aspiring for a platform of his own to release music from friends and stablemates, Louay established his record label 'For the Record' back in 2012 – setting out to showcase the best up and coming production talent all over Melbourne and Australia.
Stylistically, Louay's DJing traverses through a mixture of diverse sounds and genres. When behind the decks, his mixes ebb and flow between different styles – ranging from funky grooving house, to smooth rolling prog, or to deep rhythmic techno, and anywhere in between. Louay has involvement with many of Melbourne's top crews and promoters across the city, and can be found DJing regularly at events held by Substance Sounds, Half Wild, Darkbeat, Doesn't Matter, and Stable Music. Sporting an impressive list of big name acts that he's supported in past gigs, he has played in the company of artists like Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Pig&Dan, John Digweed, Max Cooper, OXIA, Alex Niggemann, and more.
Louay has two new upcoming tracks, both of which are different remixes on his label: For The Record. First will be his remix of Nila's track 'SubBeat', due out on the 20th of February, on the SubBeat EP. Following that will be Louay's remix on Charles Oliver's single called “Left Of Path” - scheduled for a late March release.
