Glen Savins retirement farewell in September, 1997. Glen started at The Northern Star about 1953 as an advertisement booking clerk & finished his career as Commercial Printing manager.
The Northern Star General Manager, Ken Steinke presented Glen with a complete fishing outfit as a farewell gift.

Son of Walter and Jean (Carstairs), brother of John and Stan, beloved husband of Jane (Bowhill), much loved father of Catherine, James and David, and adored grandfather of Megan, Anna, Phoebe and Jonathan.
ABC foreign correspondent in South-East Asia, South Asia and PNG.
Funeral service at St John's Church, Reid, Canberra, 2pm Thursday 22 December.

The Northern Star bus ready for a trip to the Production Centre in Goonellabah with the night shift on board.
Inside the bus: Wally Wells and Barry Carney. Standing beside the bus: Mert Humbley, ?? Dodd, Clive Hammond, Harold Ames, Reg Munro. Ernie Jones & Peter Driussi. Roy Kelly was the bus driver. The bus left The Star Office in Molesworth Street & picked up staff all along the route to Goonellabah.
