Social connection (NOT social media!) is shown to have many benefits for our health.

Quality relationships can reduce risk of chronic disease such as heart disease, stroke, dementia and depression and anxiety. It has even been shown to improve depression, anxiety, diet and lifestyle choices and sleep quality!

Connecting with our social circles FACE TO FACE is the best way to strengthen these connections. It could be as simple as grabbing a coffee with a friend at work or going for a walk with your family after dinner. ☕👫👭👬👋

Took some of my own advice 🙈 and got a blood test done recently.

If you have seen me in clinic you know I’m big on getting bloods done to see how the body is functioning and if there is anything underlying exacerbating your symptoms or we want to be proactive on something before it goes to s**t!

Do you go for your yearly blood test and know what you should be asking for?

You dont realise the signs of burnout at times, because we think it's normal to feel the way we do.

But it starts with waking up exhausted even after sufficient sleep, difficulty getting out of bed, frequent headaches, lack of motivation, gut issues, skin issues, muscles that ache, the need to distance yourself, irritability, disturbed sleep, low energy, feeling lost or stuck, memory struggles, self sabotage behaviours and brain fog

Your body speaks to you, it's important to listen to it.

One of the most common things I hear in the clinic is ‘I'm not stressed!” When we are stressed our body can give us signs. One technique to help us realise how our body is feeling is Body scan meditation.

Body scan meditation is a mindfulness practice that involves mentally scanning your body from head to toe, paying attention to any sensations, tension, or discomfort without trying to change anything. It's like doing a gentle internal check-up, just observing how your body feels in the present moment.

Overall, it’s a simple yet powerful way to reduce stress, improve body awareness, and foster a sense of calm.
