We are the new kid on the block in a new and changing environment of book sellers. Publishing has changed in the global market with many authors becoming independent and desiring a control over their work and investments. As an exclusive outlet chain for Shawline Publishing Group and other selected small publishing houses, The Independent Bookstore chain is

designed around only selling and promoting independently published books by Australian and New Zealand authors that are difficult to find anywhere else or simply not available in other bookstores. We are not affiliated with any other distribution or publishing house and only support fully independent authors and publishers to achieve a market presence both online and off-line. With over 100 titles of high-quality books from local Australian authors arriving within the next 12 months, we pride ourselves on letting new talent have a place in the market to showcase their work and gain 100% net return from sales of their book’s success. No other bookseller in this country gives new authors a chance to be found and become successful like we do through our support and efforts both online and off-line. The Ballarat store is the first store, established in 2021 following the impact of the CoVID pandemic on book resellers in this country and also for the small Indie press publishers to achieve an outlet for their amazing titles that are simply ignored by the big chain bookstores and which deserve to be found by passionate lovers of independent books. The goal for The Independent Bookstore chain is going to be to achieve 25 outlets within the next year, and Adelaide and Perth already in development and Brisbane pending for the second half of the year in 2021. The stores will further be a social hub for authors to hold book signings and launches and readings and share in events locally to their home areas and fanbase of community supporters. The bookstore chain will also extend distribution directly to other reseller outlets such as libraries and schools and will be a key sponsor of book stands at Markets and events in the cities around Australia. We are excited and proud to be able to bring you the best new Australian authors in the market looking for your readership and support.
