Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal's star striker, is on the brink of creating history as he prepares to reach the extraordinary milestone of 200 international appearances for his country.

The 38-year-old football legend, currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, will achieve this feat during Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifying match against Iceland. Ronaldo is determined to emphasize this record and has made it clear that he has no plans to retire from international football voluntarily.

Ronaldo has been in excellent form, scoring four goals in three games under new coach Roberto Martinez. Although he was unable to find the back of the net in Portugal's recent victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the all-time international leading goal scorer with 122 goals remains motivated to perform at the highest level for his national team.

His anticipation of reaching this significant milestone reflects his unwavering dedication and love for his country and team. During a press conference in Reykjavik, Ronaldo expressed his sentiments, stating that he will never give up representing Portugal because it's always been his dream. Reaching 200 international matches is a testament to the deep love he has for his country and the national team.
Portugal has been dominant in their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, sitting comfortably at the top of Group J with three consecutive wins and an impressive goal tally of 13 without conceding. Ronaldo's presence and contributions have played a vital role in their success.

Coach Roberto Martinez recognizes the magnitude of Ronaldo's achievement, emphasizing that reaching 200 international games is a proud and unique moment for Portuguese football. The match against Iceland will be a celebration for both Ronaldo and the team.

President Sheikh Mohamed has issued a directive to release 988 prisoners ahead of the celebration of Eid Al Adha, according to state news agency Wam. This decision aims to provide inmates with an opportunity to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. The act of granting pardons during religious festivals is a tradition followed by the UAE leader each year to promote strong family bonds and exemplify the generous spirit of the occasion.

Eid Al Adha, also known as the "festival of the sacrifice," will commence on Wednesday, June 28, in accordance with the Islamic calendar's 12th and final month, Dhu Al Hijja, which started on Monday. Dhu Al Hijja holds great significance for Muslims as one of the four sacred months, referred to as Al Ash-hur Al Hurom. Additionally, the month hosts the annual Hajj pilgrimage, set to begin on June 26.

In the Emirates, like other religious holidays, Eid Al Adha serves as a time for gathering with friends and family. It is a period of reflection on one's life and faith, often accompanied by shared meals and moments of contemplation.

Emirates Airline, based in Dubai, has advised passengers to carefully plan their upcoming journeys in June and July, as departure numbers are expected to peak before Eid Al Adha on June 24 and again on July 1 when many families embark on their summer vacations.

To help passengers navigate the holiday rush, Emirates has recommended arriving at the airport up to three hours before their flight. They have also provided travel tips to beat the crowds.

Emirates offers convenient services for passengers to enhance their travel experience. One such service is the option to drop off luggage at the airport the night before the journey, free of charge. Passengers departing from Dubai can also check in early and drop off their bags 24 hours prior to departure, or 12 hours before if flying to the US or Tel Aviv. This allows travelers to arrive at the airport closer to their departure time and proceed directly to immigration.

Emirates has introduced a new city check-in facility at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Passengers can visit this location between 8 am and 10 pm daily, using self-check-in kiosks or dedicated desks with Emirates agents, ensuring a seamless start to their travel experience.

For those starting their journeys from Ajman, there is a 24-hour city check-in service available at Ajman Central Bus Terminal. Passengers can check in up to 4 hours before their flight, drop off their baggage, collect boarding passes, and purchase a bus ticket for Dh20. Regular bus departures from Ajman to Emirates Terminal 3 are offered from 4 am to 11.30 pm. Upon arrival at the airport, travelers can seamlessly proceed to their flight.

Passengers can also choose the convenience of checking in from home in Dubai and Sharjah. Boarding passes are issued in digital format on the Emirates app or via email when departing from Dubai. Online and app check-in open 48 hours ahead of the flight departure time.

Three delivery riders in the UAE are having a particularly meaningful Father's Day as they have been given the chance to return to their home countries and spend quality time with their families during Eid-al-Adha.

One of these riders is 27-year-old Muhammad Arif Liaquat Ali, a Pakistani expatriate. For Ali, this occasion holds immense significance as he was born after his father's passing and never had the opportunity to meet or know him. Therefore, being able to be with his own children, especially during the festive season, carries a deep meaning for him.

Father's Day in the UAE is celebrated on June 21 each year, and this opportunity comes as a gesture of appreciation from a Dubai-based company that is expressing gratitude by surprising three lucky riders. In partnership with Deliveroo, Five Guys UAE organized a special rider day, starting with a limo pick-up and tasting sessions for the highest-performing riders. These riders then participated in a live draw where three names were chosen from a rider's helmet, granting them trips back home.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, Ali expressed his excitement, saying, "The last time I went home was in December 2022. When I heard that I had won this ticket, I couldn't believe my ears. It's the first time in my life that I have won something like this. I have two children, one who is three years old and another who is one year old. I can't wait to see them."

He added, "This is very special for me because I never had the chance to meet my father as he passed away four months before I was born. It is very important to me that my children get to grow up seeing me. I am also extremely happy that I will be able to witness my children's growth."

To show appreciation for their dedication, three Deliveroo riders have been granted trips back to their home countries, providing them with a precious opportunity to reunite with their loved ones.

Another beneficiary, Muhammad Waseem, a Pakistani expat who has been working as a Deliveroo rider for four years, reflects on Father's Day and remembers how hard his father worked for their family.

The UAE has once again been named as the country that most young Arabs would like to live in.

The results, compiled by the Arab Youth Survey, are based on interviews with 3,600 people, aged between 18 and 24. Participants spanned 18 countries.

The UAE's main attributes were its safety and security, according to 41 per cent, a growing economy (28 per cent), effective leadership (24 per cent), clean environment (22 per cent), and the ease of starting a business (20 per cent).

"Starting my career as a civil engineer in Lebanon has been very challenging, it's difficult to accept the idea that my country has no opportunities for me," said Tarek Mahmoud, 22, civil engineer.

"I have no other option but to seek a job abroad, and the UAE is very welcoming of fresh graduates and young talents.

"I'd like to move and start a life there if I get the chance, it's the place to be today."
The sentiment is echoed by young Arabs who have already made the Emirates their home.

“I moved to the UAE almost two years ago and it was the best decision I made," said Tala Dia, 25, a senior auditor also from Lebanon.

"Of course I feel homesick sometimes, but Abu Dhabi is also home. Most of my friends in Lebanon are looking for an opportunity to move here.

Hidden within the depths of the earth lies a treasure trove of secrets and marvels, and among the most captivating discoveries are the exquisitely preserved remains of ancient animals locked in permafrost.

In the vast Siberian region of Yakutia, a fortunate mammoth tusk hunter stumbled upon an extraordinary find in 2018—a fully intact head of a prehistoric wolf. This remarkable discovery offers an unparalleled glimpse into the lives of creatures that roamed the Earth thousands of years ago.

Dating back 32,000 years, the specimen, remarkably preserved by the region's permafrost, belongs to an adult Pleistocene steppe wolf, a distinct lineage that no longer exists today. It is the first-ever partial carcass of its kind to be unearthed, providing scientists with invaluable insights into the characteristics and behaviors of these ancient wolves, as well as shedding light on the factors that led to their extinction.

Photographs of the severed head showcase its impressive size, measuring approximately 15.7 inches long, with remnants of fur, sharp fangs, and a remarkably well-preserved snout. While some reports have labeled it as a "giant wolf," experts clarify that it is not significantly larger than its modern wolf counterparts, once the frozen permafrost adhered to its neck is taken into account.

Driven by the desire to unravel further mysteries, a Russian research team plans to construct a digital model of the wolf's brain and skull interior, led by Albert Proto Popov of the Republic of Sakha's Academy of Sciences.

The photograph depicts Haji Hassan, a shopkeeper hailing from Zanjan, Iran. It is said that an individual had left their bicycle as a deposit with Haji Hasan, but for reasons unknown, never returned to claim it.

Undeterred by this, Haji Hasan faithfully placed the bicycle outside his shop during the day and brought it inside at night, diligently safeguarding it for a remarkable span of 45 years, steadfastly awaiting the owner's return. Sadly, Haji Hasan passed away without ever seeing the bicycle's owner again.

In recognition of Haji Hasan's unwavering loyalty and commitment, the government decided to erect a statue commemorating him, alongside the bicycle, at a prominent intersection in the city.

This gesture was meant to serve as a timeless symbol of faithfulness and dedication, an enduring reminder of Haji Hasan's remarkable "Ahad-e-Wafa" or pledge of loyalty.

Amrudeen Sheik Dawood, a 49-year-old man from India, has built a copy of the Taj Mahal as a tribute to his late mother, Jailani Bibi. Using 100 tonnes of marble imported from Rajasthan and investing Rs. 156 Million, Dawood created a mausoleum resembling the iconic Taj Mahal on a one-acre plot of land in Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu.Inspired by the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taj Mahal, Dawood, who works as a rice merchant, aimed to honor his mother with a Mughal-style memorial.

The replica stands 12 meters tall on a 1.2-meter platform, with four minarets reaching a height of 14 meters.

The mausoleum’s width is approximately 33 meters. After Jailani Bibi’s sudden passing in 2020 due to a heart attack, Dawood decided to build a memorial instead of burying her in a traditional cemetery.

With the help of engineers and architects, he chose a design reminiscent of the famous Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.Jailani Bibi, who became a widow at the age of 36, raised her six children, including Dawood and her foster son Mohammed Abdul Khadar, as a single mother.

Dawood’s construction of the replica Taj Mahal is a heartfelt gesture to express his profound love and gratitude for his mother, symbolizing the sacrifices she made for their family.

LinkedIn recently deleted the account of a 14-year-old named Kairan Quazi, who gained attention for graduating from university and landing a job at SpaceX. The reason for the deletion was that Quazi did not meet the platform’s minimum age requirement of 16.

Quazi expressed his disappointment with LinkedIn’s decision, stating that he was qualified enough for a prestigious job but not to use a professional social media platform. He encouraged others to share the notice on their LinkedIn accounts and connect with him on Instagram instead, where the minimum age requirement is 13.

While some users supported LinkedIn’s decision, citing the importance of adhering to rules and potential risks to underage users, others criticized the platform and suggested that Quazi should buy LinkedIn and show them how to manage it better.

The CEO of delivery company Talabat spent a morning doing deliveries last week. To his surprise, he found that his phone overheated two minutes after he put it on the phone holder of the bike, and then had no clue where to go!

However, Tomaso Rodriguez, who recently got his UAE motorbike license, got a lot of help from fellow riders - who had no clue that he was the boss.

The CEO decided to experience the work the riders do, and he found it challenging but satisfying.

“I can say that it wasn't easy, but it was definitely rewarding to witness what those heroes do to make people's lives easier,” he said in an interview with Khaleej Times.

“Most importantly it allowed me to better understand the pain points and work with my teams on how to address these and further improve rider experience. Because there are things that you will never learn from numbers, KPIs and dashboards - you need to experience them yourself.”

According to Tomaso, the most challenging part of the exercise was the heat. “Riding is not much of a problem because the wind is kind of refreshing, but it is challenging when waiting for orders outside,” he said. “Parking was also difficult.

In some areas, buildings don’t allow riders to park in the basements, and they are not allowed to park on the streets. Overall, it was challenging to get acquainted with buildings, vendor locations, waiting areas, and parking spots.”

In the realm of space exploration, researchers and scientists continue to make remarkable discoveries that captivate our imagination. Among their endeavors is the cultivation of vegetation in the vast expanse of outer space. Through their dedication, scientists have achieved the remarkable feat of growing vegetables and creating gardens beyond the confines of Earth. Recently, NASA delighted the world by sharing an awe-inspiring image of a flower that bloomed on the International Space Station (ISS).

The significance of this achievement goes beyond its visual appeal. NASA emphasized that their space garden serves a purpose beyond aesthetics. Studying how plants develop in the unique environment of space provides valuable insights into growing crops during long-duration missions to destinations like the Moon, Mars, and beyond. As part of their ongoing efforts, NASA astronauts have successfully cultivated a variety of crops on the ISS, including lettuce, tomatoes, and even chile peppers. With more plant experiments planned, the mission to establish a sustainable source of fresh food in space continues to progress.

During the Hajj in 2018, a powerful sandstorm struck Makkah, followed by heavy rain in Madinah. The storm coincided with the preparations for the Waquf ritual, catching pilgrims off guard.

Amidst this intense storm, an intriguing revelation came to light. It became evident that the Kaaba had a hidden door. The forceful winds lifted the black cloth (Kiswa) that covers the Kaaba, exposing this previously unknown entrance.

This hidden door, built by Abdullah bin Zubair (RA), has historical significance. Ayesha (RA) had conveyed that it was the desire of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to have two doors on the Kaaba, enabling people to enter from both sides. However, due to financial constraints, the Prophet (PBUH) was unable to fulfill this wish during his lifetime. Abdullah bin Zubair (RA) later fulfilled this vision and constructed the door.

In 75 Hijri, when the Banu Umayyah regained control of Makkah under the leadership of Hajjaj bin Yousuf, the Kaaba underwent reconstruction. It was during this period that the door, also known as the hidden door of the Kaaba, was closed.

The unveiling of the hidden door during the sandstorm provided a new insight into the architectural details and historical significance of the Kaaba.

According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) in the UAE, under certain conditions and in special cases, a Muslim resident is permitted to sponsor two wives simultaneously. The Digital Government of the UAE has clarified that in order to obtain a residence visa for a wife and children, a resident must provide a certified Arabic marriage contract or a translated version by an authorized translator.

For a resident father, he can sponsor his unmarried daughters, regardless of their age. As for male sons, the father can sponsor them until they reach the age of 25. However, if they are pursuing their studies, the father can continue to sponsor them even after they turn 25, as stated by the government.

Regarding newborns, it is mandatory to obtain a residence permit for them within 120 days of their birth to avoid penalties, according to the UAE Government. Additionally, a resident can sponsor the children of his wife from her previous marriage by meeting specific requirements, including obtaining consent from the biological father and providing a deposit as a guarantee. In this case, the residence permit is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.

The ICP has outlined eight documents necessary to submit a request for sponsoring a wife and children, including the residence visa application, passport copies of both the sponsor and the sponsored individuals, white background photographs of the wife and children, medical fitness certificates for individuals above 18, copies of the husband's employment contract or the company's contract if he is an employer, a valid work permit, a certificate of the husband's salary, and an attested lease contract.
