STUDENTS CRY AFTER EVICTION
A number of students have been evicted from the school hostels. This happened after the accommodation scandal which happened early August this year where the university management failed to accommodate all students who have been accepted for the 2021/2022 academic year in campus.
It is believed that after the accommodation scandal, a lot of students where stranded to where they will be staying because they were not earlier communicated to by the school management. Furthermore, students expressed disappointment towards the poor communication and work culture which was portrayed by the school management as many students were not financially stable and were hoping the school to accommodate everyone. The student union executive came on board and negotiated with management to atleast facilitate those that have no money to pay for boarding houses near campus so as to give them temporal rooms. It is very sad and very unfortunate to see our brothers and sisters being removed from temporal rooms now. We ask the new dawn government under the leadership of his excellence Mr. Hakainde Hichilema to come on board to see to it that the phase 2 of the unfinished project which includes the hostels to commence as soon as possible to help students. We ask the upcoming Mukusu (Cleophas Mukange) leadership to take up this matter and bring it to the attention of the new government.
STUDENTS PROTEST OVER HELSB LOANS
A number of students had a peaceful protest crying for help to his Excellence the President of Zambia Mr. Hakainde Hichilema. This has happened after a negative response towards the way HELSB awarded the student loans only to a few students leaving out others who are desperately in need.
