STATION PROFILE
Eastern Highveld community radio initiative was formed in October 2012 by the vision bearer Mr Joshua Zakhele Mnyakeni co- founder members Miss. Eastern Highveld is a community radio station located at; Eastern Highveld Broadcasting Centre, TLC Office, Number 3264, Extension 10, Corner of R50 and Nkambule Street, Lebohang, Mpumalanga, 2265. Joshua Mnyakeni founded the station when
he saw a need for a means of communication that represented their own community. Joshua explains, "there were no radio stations where we could hear voices representing our own community”. The station broadcasts 24/7, 365 days a year. When Eastern Highveld was formed none of the co-founding members had any experience nor resources to start a community radio station. Mr Mnyakeni had immaculate experience that he hoarded during his employment at SABC and JacarandaFM. He had incessant research on how to initiate his vision. Documents such as the broadcasting position paper, how to get on air and the frequency plan were acquired from the research done via word of mouth. Mr Mnyakeni took 6 (Six) months perusing through the acquired documents to get a clear understanding of how it all works. VISION
We need to be South Africa’s number one community radio that helps communities preserve and live harmoniously with their environment. MISSION
Serves as an avenue for the free flow of beneficial information aimed at uplifting the plight of the various sectors of the community. OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL
As a community project, the station is owned and controlled by the community of the broader Eastern Highveld Region. This is done through a community elected Board of Directors which is representative of the general community and inclusive of all government stakeholders, NGOs, Community Based Organizations, The Board is made up of people who are involved in existing community projects in the region, and other sectors within Eastern Highveld. STAFF COMPONENT
The station has a fulltime Management team which comprises of Station Manager, Programmes Manager, Marketing Manager, Finance & Administration Officer and staff complement of 16, which is comprised of News Readers, Journalists, Presenters and Producers. BROADCAST FORMAT
Our programming format is 30% Talk and 70% music. BROADCAST AREAS
The station broadcast in the following communities within Eastern Highveld Region: Leandra-Kinross-Evander-Secunda-Embalenhle-Devon-Trichardt-Delmas-Standerton-kriel-Bethal, Or**es and surrounding areas. BROADCAST TIMES

Individuals between the age of 16 and 45, multi-linguals, within the geographic areas of Eastern Highveld Region in Mpumalanga, the working and non-working Class, mostly residents at home, Motorists, Tourists Academics & students. targeting the working, non-working class mostly resident at home, tourist, academics, and student who were previously underprivileged of airing their views or concern.
