Our Story
GaySA Radio is an online LGBTQ+ radio station from South Africa, playing awesome music 24/7 with daily programming.
The station was established by two friends in October 2015, and was officially launched a year later at Pretoria Pride in 2016. It started out with a strong volunteer programme and is graually building itself up into a self-sustaining concern. It is run from a bedroom studio with plans to move to premises with offices and a studio someday soon.
In South Africa, their radio frequencies are full and digital migration is behind schedule, which should result in the change of he broadcasting landscpae. While GaySA Radio may apply for a digiytal DAB license when they become available, it is important to have a worldwide LGBTQ+ voice and platform available through the Internet.
