B3 Funeral parlour 'cremates' body by mistake!
A WELL-KNOWN funeral parlour faces scrutiny.
This after the funeral parlour allegedly cremated a body by mistake.
On Friday, 29 November, a family from Wattville in Benoni, Ekurhuleni, waited for Batho Batsho Bakopane (B3) Funeral Parlour to deliver the body, but it never arrived.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the husband, despite his relatives' objections, bravely shared his version of events.
He said they were deeply concerned when his wife's body didn’t arrive as scheduled on Friday, 29 November.
Neighbours and friends in Wattville had gathered outside the house to welcome their departed neighbour back.
The husband said while they waited anxiously, the dead woman's son, who is his stepson, entered the house in a rage.
"He was in a fighting mood, accusing me of authorising the cremation of his mum, which shocked me."
He said the crowd eventually calmed him down, and he contacted his relatives at the mortuary to find out what had happened. He was told by the funeral parlour, operating out of their Benoni office, that the coffins had been switched by mistake.
"I froze as people had gathered to receive my wife's remains."
Mourners had to be informed that the body was not delivered as it had been cremated. The issue is now addressed by the family's lawyer.
A nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed disbelief at how B3 could make such a big error.
