So you've decided it's time to step up your marketing and you've approached some social media agencies for a quote... but they're all so different?! How on earth are you supposed to know how much your business should be spending on social media?

The even more confusing answer? It depends!

There is a lot to consider when calculating a social media budget for your business, but one point to guide you is your company's total revenue. Most companies spend about 5-15% of annual revenue on marketing.

Of this digital marketing budget, about 15% to 25% usually gets spent on social media marketing efforts (organic and paid).

Your overall digital marketing goals should play a factor in determining how much to allocate to social media spend, but remember that spending more money doesn't necessarily mean greater success. Choose a partner who you can not only trust with your budget, but who can show you a return on your investment.

The short answer here is no, you don't need an icon. Many successful logos (here comes the good 'ol favorite reference; Coca-Cola) don't have icons and have successfully built their brand on a creative typeface or name only.

That said, an icon will go a long way to communicate your brand and some personality. And people like unpacking the message behind a clever and well designed symbol (is it a bird, wait, is that a plane?).

Another point to consider is the use of your logo. An icon displays really nicely on a branded shirt or social media profile for example.

And then, rank them, displaying the most authoritative or popular pages first.

Two big factors that influence the result are:

☝️ Relevancy
What was searched vs your page content. This is where keywords play an important role.

✌️ Authority
Which is measured by a website’s popularity. Google assumes that the more popular a page is, the more valuable its content is to readers.

So next time you're wondering about why you had to click through six results pages to find your awesome website, get smart and start improving your visibility with an SEO strategy.

Guys! Did you know website visitors take about 50 milliseconds (that’s 0.05 seconds) to form an opinion about your website that determines whether they’ll stay or leave?

That's NO time to waste! Some quick tips:

☝️ Use high quality images or video on your landing page (especially in that great piece of real estate located in the header)

☝️ Make sure your home page is well branded and the colours and fonts are creating the right brand impression

☝️ Add some animation and interesting page interaction (those cool parts that move, slide, bounce, zoom, fade and hool-a-hoop)

Established in 2011, Full Cream was created out of a desire to offer extra value to local businesses through high quality work, expertise and solutions built on experience.

So, why “Full Cream”?

Having grown up on a dairy farm, just outside Estcourt in the KZN midlands, Hayley (our founder) thought it only right to name a business after what it would represent: A service that would be 100% based on the goodness and quality with which she was brought up on. Full Cream was born and while starting as a freelance service in a small bedroom, it has steadily grown into a busy studio, where we pride ourselves on high quality work.
