Veteran's diary.
Soldier H*******, Second artillery unit, Mammoth M-A-04
Day 24, Madagascar
Today the new commander in charge told us to be quick. I did not understand what he was talking about, we are defending an outpost, safe behind walls. The confederation never tried to land on this island.
When I heard the Hawks take-off, I knew it was a serious attack, the new prototype unit needed to stay hidden as long as possible.
It is at that moment that our commander told us to go as fast as possible to the beach… to place the whole artillery unit away from the safety of our walls and towers was risky. But it paid well. I saw burning Hammers on the road, we all made it safe to the beach thanks to the jaguars opening the road.
Then I saw them.
At least 40 ships: transports and deltas. Two of them were already sinking, good job Hawks.
After the first shot we did not stop for 20 minutes. The cannon was burning hot. three mammoths firing non-stop is a scary thing to hear… for the confederation.
When all was over, I saw the army of Zeus hidden in the ship’s wreckage. We would have not survived if they had land.
That day I understood why Commander Alioch R is in charge. He saved us all that day and I’ll give my life if he commands it.
