Dear friends. Next week Freqncy will turn 20 years old, so it is with mixed emotions that I write this. As many of you know, I have been working on decolonising online learning with Cumulus Blue Platforms. COVID-19 has accelerated interest to the point where CBP needs my full time attention. A short while ago, Ricky Kalu approached me with a proposition, and although it was an emotional decision, I have accepted his offer to buy Freq’ncy.

Most of you will know Ricky through Kalu Media and his Pan-African translations and voice over services. His vision is to build on the Freq’ncy legacy by continuing to service the local industry, but also to expand the brand into the rest of Africa.

The agreement sees Ricky taking control of the reigns, but Cumulus and Love Humans will still share the premises, so Dave and Eleonore will be on hand to ensure a smooth transition for Ricky, Krystal and the guys if they need us.

Having worked with Ricky for many years, I think his ethos and vision will help grow the Freqncy brand to new heights and secure his place as the go-to Pan African Service Provider for all things audio.

I started my career in advertising 45 years ago as a kid in front of the camera and have know very little else since then. It has left me with a lifetime of memories and a contact list of good friends. I am grateful to each and every one of you who shared time with me in studio. I will still have interests in content development through Love Humans, but with regards to me being a part of the Freq’ncy brand and being a sound engineer, I guess this will be my final take.
