Our Story
Coastal Radio SA – The Internet Station for the Next Generation! So who is Coastal Radio SA? Coastal Radio SA was started, as a concept in April 2012, and went live with its very first live broadcast on the 1st of October 2015. Currently Coastal Radio SA is the number one on-line radio station, broadcasting from a number of studios from in South Africa and Australia, to thousands of local listeners but also to thousands of our expats who still want to experience and enjoy something familiar, not to forget our new Dutch and Belgium listeners. We are extremely proud to have dynamic, creative and passionate team of presenters who deliver captivating content with that “old school” radio feel. Our programming varies from pure entertainment to actuality programs and our key focus is the South African entertainment industries. Our focus is on top quality entertainment predominantly for English and Afrikaans speaking listeners all over the world. We do not broadcast any political programming. We are rather focused on lifestyle, activities and interests from our target audience. Our aim is to inspire and motivate each and every listener to have a positive outlook towards our beautiful country, its people, its diversity and their own lives. We are a platform for local music and concentrate on new South African English and Afrikaans musicians. We interview local musicians and entertainers providing them with much needed exposure aiming for employment creation for these individuals within the local and international entertainment industries. We further make our platform available to registered and regonised charitable organizations leading to the support and development of those in need. Our estimated listenership (calculated through information surveys, competitions and other communication tools) indicates between 180 000 to 250 000.
