On the 7th October 2023, Hamas unleashed the biggest and most brutal attack on Jews since the Holocaust with over 1200 men, women, and children brutally murdered, many r***d, and 252 taken hostage into Gaza. The nation of Israel is still mourning the loss of their loved ones and is in trauma over those (age 1 to 86 years) still being held hostage ten months later, without any international organisation allowed to visit them or essential medications (sent by Israel) passed on to them.

What is it that makes one climb out of a dark place in one’s life? What is it that drives us to go forward through the darkest times? Is it fear? Is it determination? Is it faith in God? For Miskyah Toth, the answer lies in her unwavering faith in God and her deep-seated belief in His plan for her life.
Born and raised in a typical South African family, Miskyah was initially sheltered from the many challenges life can present. However, upon...

Corrupt and incompetent ANC ministers had no outside competition for decades. The GNU has ended the former governing party’s honeymoon of ineptitude. The ANC’s cadre deployment policy and its protection of corrupt officials is now being exposed for what it is.
A News24 article reported, concerns were raised at the recent ANC national working committee meeting that DA and Patriotic Alliance (PA)...

Things are heating up on the legislative front. The foreign-funded “Sex Workers Education & Advocacy Taskforce” (SWEAT) is attempting to circumvent the democratic legislative process by asking the High Court to declare unconstitutional the laws that criminalise the sale and purchase of sexual services, thereby decriminalizing the entire sex-industry in SA.

In a shocking display of irreverence, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris kicked off with a deeply offensive parody of the Last Supper of Christ, with drag queens in flamboyant costumes blasphemously depicting the roles of Jesus Christ and his disciples. Instead of a celebration of athletic prowess and the culture and history of the host nation, this grossly inappropriate artistic choice has outraged Christians worldwide, who celebrate the Last Supper as a holy sacrament of their faith.

“I appreciate Krusa FM providing gifts for my family, such as a solar light and MP3 player/radio. These presents are a blessing and make us very happy because there is no electricity in the area.”
This listener’s family is one of the twenty families who were visited by FEBA Cambodia (Krusa FM) during a two-day mission on 8 and 9 May. The team travelled to two small villages in the Ratanakiri province, which borders Vietnam and Laos in the northeast of Cambodia, to distribute MP3 players/radios and solar lights to people, including Indigenous people, in areas where they still lack access to electricity.

It all began with the dream of being back on the steps of a building in Windhoek. It took a horse called Tsedeq, a mule named Nikao, two more horses, Stardust and Johnny Depp, and a journey of about 2,000km to get there.
It took back roads, tracks through deep rural areas – on a few stages traversing lion and elephant country, walking and riding through drought-stricken districts, and the help of remarkable strangers all along the route to reach those steps.

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is gearing up to assist with a major wave of Aliyah to Israel this summer. Despite the current war raging in Gaza and the North, Israel is expecting more than 30,000 new Jewish immigrants this year. Over recent years, most of these olim (newcomers) have been Russian-speaking Jews from the former Soviet Union. Israeli authorities are now projecting a large wave of immigrant families also will come from Western countries due to rising antisemitism there.

President Ramaphosa’s ‘Opening of Parliament’ address on 18 July rehashed many of his 2018 promises – reducing poverty, tackling the high cost of living and building a capable, ethical and developmental state. The ANC did not deliver on any of these promises.
However, what makes Ramaphosa’s objectives different this time is that he is not depending solely on an ANC administration to deliver. The Government of National Unity (GNU) – that includes 10 parties – are collectively tasked with the economic turnaround.

A beacon of hope shone over Europe as the recent conference in Paris, organised by the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, drew over 7,000 participants, including 1,000 pastors, in a quest for spiritual rejuvenation amidst declining church attendance and secularisation trends across the continent, ultimately the religious world.
The conference, held on June 15, marked a pivotal moment in the “2024 Continental Bible Conference” series, which commenced in the Philippines and responded to fervent calls from pastors seeking a revival in Europe.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the formation of a National Council for Minorities’ Rights, a move aimed at strengthening the protection and promotion of minority rights in the country. This directive follows a series of important judgments that have underscored the need for such measures, particularly a landmark 2014 ruling by former Chief Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani. This judgment was a response to the tragic terrorist attack on a church in Peshawar and broader threats to minority communities.

How does a radio-based ministry reach those who do not listen to radio? How do they share the Good News with people who have never heard of their radio station? The answer: outside broadcasting. Which is why three of FEBA Mozambique’s radio teams recently received training to take the Good News to the streets.

From 19 to 25 June, the KwaSizabantu Mission commemorated 50 years of youth conferences, celebrating the remarkable success of two youth conferences annually for 50 years.
The theme of the celebratory week-long event was derived from 1 Chronicles 16:8: “O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make his deeds known among the peoples.”
This year, nearly 8,000 registered for the conference, with a packed auditorium and overflow of over 12,000 attendees on Sunday, June 23, during the Thanksgiving event.

The best-selling and most-awarded female gospel artist of all time, CeCe Winans, is celebrating more than the success of the recent release, More Than This, her second live album. This month marks the 40th anniversary of her marriage to Alvin Love II.
“Faith is the most important part in maintaining the balance ... If you honour God, He’ll honour you ... I always tell people that God never saved me and sent me out to save the world and lose my family ... My family is a part of my testimony. My family is a part of what God has done and continues to do...”
Scott McNamara, founder of Jesus at the Door (JAD), recently visited Cape Town to conduct an elite evangelism training and outreach activation session, hosted by Stepping Out and CfaN.
During the session Scott trained believers to use Jesus At The Door. JAD is a simple, colourful, and powerful Spirit led approach to evangelism that enables everyday believers to share the Gospel. For the practical part of the training, the team headed out to a nearby mall to share the gospel with shoppers using JAD. As a result, many lives were touched by the power of the Gospel and 6 precious souls received salvation!

There was good and bad news for corruption weary citizens this past week. Overall, there is more good, than bad news. The fact that the country went without loadshedding for more than 100 days is perhaps an optimistic indicator that South Africa may have turned the corner and begun the uphill battle to fulfill its full and true potential. Please continue to earnestly pray for South Africa and especially for all those in authority.

Defending faith, family and religious freedoms will be very different the next 5 years. This time FPI will be engaging a Parliament not controlled by an ANC majority. The Government of National Unity (GNU) includes 11 different political parties with conflicting agendas.
This means the ANC cannot ram its narrow ideological agenda through Parliament on its own. Its minority status in the National Assembly demands it consider inputs from its GNU partners when formulating government policy. This will be a bitter pill to swallow...

President Cyril Ramaphosa finally announced his Cabinet on Sunday 30 June following 10 days of intense negotiations. It appears Ramaphosa has not learned much from the ANC’s losses at the polls on 29 May. The Government of National Unity (GNU) Cabinet which consists of 32 ministers and 43 deputy-ministers is unjustifiably bloated by any measure.
Ramaphosa said executive appointments must reflect the performance of parties in the General Elections. However, ANC MP’s got 62,5% of Cabinet and 76,7% of deputy minister positions including President and Deputy President despite securing only 40% of votes...

On June 29, just a month shy of her 91st birthday, the beloved Dr Nellie Roberts passed away.
Dr Nellie, who co-founded the Durban Christian Centre with her husband, Ps Fred Roberts, in 1979, was a pillar of faith and a beacon of hope for many. Together, they established one of South Africa’s first multi-cultural, non-racial churches, making significant strides in promoting unity and faith across diverse communities.

JOY! News seeks to educate and inform believers of news and current events from a Christian perspective, furthering the Biblical worldview.
“This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.” – Jeremiah 7:28
We are living in a perilous era, where even the media cannot be trusted. Influential powers, such as politicians, have been observed to have swayed the media into reporting biased news, in favour of such influential powers. This is not only true to local news stations, but is also true on a global and international scale. Many tactics have been utilised, such as fake news, clickbait headlines, and a genuine lack of fact-checking.
In this era where our culture is veering further and further away from God’s order and His truths, it is so important to be aware of what you are consuming and filling yourself with. Proverbs 4:23 warns us to “Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” If you are fed up with so many biased news stations, then it is time to start empowering yourself with knowledge by doing your own research. Do not take things at face-value anymore, especially not news sites. Almost everyone has an agenda or a subjective narrative.
Here at JOY! News, we are utterly sold-out for the Gospel. Our only goal is to do whatever we can to further the Lord’s Kingdom here on earth by educating and informing Christians of a Biblical worldview. We have launched this news site that covers daily Christian news from South Africa, as well as around the globe. We have news items in both English and in Afrikaans. Please make sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter to keep updated and informed with what is going on around the world, from a Christian perspective.
“The Lord gives the word, and a great army publishes the Good News.” – Psalm 68:11

Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal bodily return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Salvation by the grace of God alone, on the basis of Christ’s atonement on the Cross alone, received by faith alone.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Who’s indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; of the redeemed to eternal life, and of them that are lost to eternal damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
