Ok folks, so I've been asked by a good friend of mine whether I'd help these guys out, by giving my thoughts/review of their latest album release. The band is called Venus & the Snake and its their debut album called Volume 1.

Firstly let me say, those of you that know me, know that I've always been partial to a little classic rock now and then. This album plants its flag firmly and unashamedly in that lane, and if that's your jam, this album will not dissapoint!!

So what can i say?? The band cooks!! Every aspect of this record, from production to songwriting to style feels slick, natural and unforced. From the first riff on the opening track " Love is a Drug", slipping between Hatefieldesque verses into Rival Sons like grooves, one immediately gets the sense that this album is gonna be quite the ride!!

My favorite tracks would be " Say my name" and "Beautiful monster". Both great songs with some really catchy hooks! The band grabs you by the throat and just don't let go....until track about 9...when "Another trip" shows the, dare i say it, gentler side of the band.

All in all a really cool record!! Definitely worth checking it out!
