While growing up, primary schools pupils and junior secondary students were not allowed to plait hair.

So our mum was our sole barber due to the rumours then that a particular scalp disease was being contracted from the barbers' shop.

She was always giving us this particular haircut called skull - she scraped off the whole of the hair and the scalp stayed shiny.

So one day my sis and I begged Dida(as we call her) to take us to a barber's shop that we were tired and ashamed of having that particular haircut 💇‍♀️ that we wanted PUNK

Mum: which one is punk?🙄

We: It's a haircut...some hair will be left at the front part of the hair while the rest will be lower

Mum: ooh it's it punk? I know it na😁 I can make it.

To cut the long story short, at the end we looked like a rooster🐔 🤣🤣

She shove every other part of the head(skin) and left the front part long.

We were now begging her to shave off everything but she refused 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️

It was on a Friday, we resorted on tying hair scarfs throughout the weekend. We came back from the church and cried our heart out begging her to forgive us and shave that small hair on our head because the following day was Monday (school). She later agreed and we NEVER asked for PUNK or any other style again. 😂 Don't laugh alone, please share 😃

BTW: This is my daughter's hair. I've been their first barber and hair stylist from day one 😃

Comment DM if you wish to know how I manage their hair.

Teacher told me not to worry about spelling because in the future there will be autocorrect, for which I am eternally grapefruit 🙄😁

Almost everyone in the comment section says "just go buy a new pair". That's this generations problem these days. Doesn't matter if it's a pair of scissors or any other item. We should be teaching our children the value of things and how to repair items if broken. Why buy brand new and create more for the landfill when you can repair items if people learnt how to. I might be cheap but at least I have the know how, of how to repair stuff.

That's like people who go hiking and say "just use your phone" rather than a map and a compass. Yes a phone is good. But when it stops working or has no signal. It's having the knowledge of knowing how to navigate and map read if you need too.

People need to start changing there sh*tty attitude towards things.

Little Jack would walk past a kids' clothing store on his way home. He would stop in front of the store window, admiring the brightly colored shirts, pants, and jackets that were displayed. Jack's family didn't have a lot of money, so he knew he couldn't buy any of the clothes, but he still liked to imagine what it would be like to wear them. He would stand there, lost in his daydreams, until it was time to continue on his way home.

May our dreams and good intentions come to reality the soonest, Amen🙏🏽
