One of Anguilla's cyclist has received a great training offer with a recognized club in Italy which can lead to greater things. However, financial assistance is needed to make this possible.

The athlete in question is Zambezi Richardson, who over the years, has displayed his remarkable ability as it relates to the sport. To date, he has trained in Australia, Germany and the UK and represented Anguilla at numerous overseas competitions, the most recent being the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK from July 28 - August 8. He is also the 2022 John T. Memorial Cycling Race champion.

An opportunity of a lifetime has presented itself for Zambezi by the way of an under 23 development team that has produced many outstanding cyclists, most of whom now ride for professional teams that are featured in races such as Tour de France.

Training is at a cost of US$15,000 for the year. Cost includes housing, training, transportation, UCI level races and more.

Payment is to be made in three installments with the first payment deadline on August 22 or he'll lose the spot. The second installments is dye in November and final payment until January. Training scheduled to begin in February 2023.

Any contribution to making this training possible would be appreciated.

Contact us at [email protected] or use the call button on our page for more info if you're interested in helping or know someone who can.

Your assistance would be a great contribution to the development of Anguilla's youth and sports.

We are counting on you. Help us make this happen. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dahlia raced today at the Commonwealth Games in England. She competed in her primary event, the Keirin sprint. In the prelims she finished 3rd [the top 2 advanced]. In the consolation race she finished 2nd with only the winner advancing. After 5 laps of racing Dahlia lost to the heavily favored Canadian rider by only .02 [two-hundredths] of a second. Overall, Dahlia finished 13th of 22 riders. She was quite pleased with the results stating “I am happy! That’s the best results I ever gotten at this level of races.”

We’re thrilled for Dahlia as she represents Jamaica on the global sports stage. At this level Dahlia is competing against the world’s best women cyclists. Many of these women ride for heavily financed national teams or have sponsorship support. They compete regularly and have great experience racing at the top level of the sport.

Unfortunately, Dahlia receives little national support and can only afford to compete at a few select international competitions each year. It takes experience, consistency and support to be successful at the top level of international sports. Dahlia has dedicated years of her life to achieving excellence in international cycling for herself and her country. Team Dahlia thanks all of you for your encouragement as she continues to work forward. We will all be cheering Dahlia on to higher heights.
