The Youth Media Initiative is a strategic element in the National Youth Development Strategy. It is conduit for national dialogue on issues pertaining to youth development, and hopefully will be important machinery for the engineering of a culture of positive regard for young people. The Antigua and Barbuda Youth Media Network (ABYMN) promotes young people's intellectual, creative and professional

growth through education and access through media. The ABYMN's media education, broadcast journalism, technical training and productive activities provide unique opportunities in social, professional and leadership development for youth, ages 14 - 24. The ABYMN is geared towards the cultivation of the natural resilience and strength of young people. By connecting youth with their communities through media literacy and professional development, they become active partners in civic engagement (school and community development).
