Destanee Aiava has made history as the first female tennis player with Samoan heritage to make it through to the US Open Singles main draw.

The 24-year-old, representing Australia, powered through three matches of straight-set victories against Gergana Topalova, fourth seed Mai Hontama and former top 20 player Ana Konjuh in the main draw qualifying in New York to secure her spot.

The National Bank of Samoa (NBS) has generously donated $20,000 tala to support our Weightlifting Team as they prepare for the Commonwealth Championships in Suva, Fiji, from September 16th to 21st, 2024.

This donation will help ensure our athletes are fully prepared to compete at their best. A big thank you to NBS for their continued support of our team!
