NC Film This page is here to share updates, breaking news, and everything NC Film THE GUIDE LINES FOR YOUR VIDEOS AND OR EMAILS:

Making your video is simple.

This is a grassroots campaign to rally support for the continued success of the film and television industry in the great state of North Carolina and to put an end to the “Sunset” by keeping the NC film incentives indefinitely. There will be a series of “Call to Action” videos relating to every level of what is needed to inform the state legislators to continue to support this industry. The first

“Call to Action” video (above) is to rally the thousands of crew members across the state. These would include workers in the following departments: electricians, transportation, grips, greens, paint, plaster, special fx, visual fx, office staff, locations, props, set decorators, accounting staff, production assistants, caterers, craft service providers, AD department, Art department, background actors, etc. The second ”Call to Action” video will be to rally the vendor support which would include but not limit: car rental agencies, hotels, consignment shops, antique stores, rental property, heavy equipment (cranes, condors, generators, etc.), truck rentals, sound equipment, tent rentals, trailer rentals, picture car rentals, copier and print shops, office supply companies, office equipment, fabric stores, lumber, hardware, metal suppliers, furniture stores, gas companies (propane, diesel, unleaded fuel), local off duty police officers, caterers, real estate, landscaping and plant nurseries, restaurants, shipping providers, internet and cable providers, etc. The third “Call to Action” video will be to rally voters that are affected by direct spending from the films and television shows across the state through tourism, local “mom & Pop” shops, restaurants, bed and breakfast, hotels, etc… Anything that is touched and affects the local economy. Use a video camera, Smartphone or your we**am on your laptops or tablets. Please keep it under two minutes preferably 60 seconds or less. Be concise, but keep it real. This is not a left or right issue so please keep politics out. This is about jobs and keeping North Carolina’s economy healthy, so keep it positive. This is putting a North Carolina voter’s face to your email which will have a stronger impact in getting your message across. Your videos and or emails should include:

1. Who you are and what county you are in, how the film industry affects you and your love ones’ livelihood and that you are a voter. You might want to include how it would affect you if the film industry leaves NC. Most importantly, tell them you want an end to the “Sunset” and to keep the NC film incentives indefinitely.

2. Make sure you select the legislators in your county when emailing. Make sure to include your name and address in the email, but NOT your video.

3. If you choose to make a video, upload it to YouTube and begin your title with “NC Film.” Make sure to copy/paste the YouTube link in your email. Let us know that you made your video and what county you are in. Post your link to the video in the comment section below. So, let’s get this going!! If you know someone who would like to help but does not have access to internet or video, get them to call their legislators!

Su***de is a public health issue and the 11th leading cause of death in the United States.

In 2021, there were over 48,000 deaths by su***de in the US and more than 6,000 of those were amongst Veterans.*

Our goal for this film is to support and engage in the conversation around victims of su***de and their loved ones while respecting the deeply tragic and sensitive nature of so many families' experiences.

Director Cody Mark Hanna and Cinematographer Ian Cassidy have previously collaborated together on several film projects. Both have experienced the tragic and lasting effects of su***de in their lives and endeavor to craft this story through a unique and hopeful lens.

Our character is a Veteran who has become isolated and feels so alone that they can no longer see an alternative to ending their life. Our character reaches out for support many times without success, and nearly ends their life before an unexpected phone call breaks through to them. Several data demonstrates that "the individual's closest social circle have the most influence and can be supportive in times of crisis."

This project will involve two days of shooting to complete our six page script. Our full production crew will deliver a quality film to shed light on important issues around su***de awareness and Veteran Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Our team is grateful for the opportunity to bring "The Last Phone Call," a timely and necessary story to audiences of all walks of life.

Help is available.

🚨 BREAKING: IATSE Members Overwhelmingly Ratify Hollywood Basic and Area Standards Agreements

With 85.9% of members’ votes in favor of approving the Hollywood Basic and 87.2% in favor of approving the Area Standards Agreement, all local unions voted in favor and the delegate counts in favor were unanimous for both contracts.

Turnout was historically high, with strong majorities of members participating in both votes. This represents only the second time in history that the Hollywood Basic and Area Standards agreements were negotiated and voted on concurrently.

The Hollywood Basic Agreement is an umbrella contract covering roughly 45,000 behind-the-scenes film and television workers primarily located in Los Angeles, across IATSE’s 13 West Coast Studio Locals. The Area Standards Agreement covers 23 local unions and approximately 25,000 film and television workers across the U.S., excluding Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Chicago.

IATSE International President Matthew D. Loeb said, “IATSE’s rank-and-file members have spoken, and their will is clear. Between significant wage increases, several craft-specific adjustments, bolstered health/pension benefits with new funding mechanisms, improved safety provisions, critical protections preventing misuse of artificial intelligence from displacing IATSE members, and more — The gains secured in these contracts mark a significant step forward for America’s film and tv industry and its workers. This result shows our members agree, and now we must build on what these negotiations achieved.”

With these contracts going into effect August 4, IATSE will continue to educate its members on the new terms and launch an enforcement campaign during the deal’s three year term.

Additionally, IATSE looks to continuing their support the and the Hollywood Basic Crafts, who remain in Negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) — as well as the as their agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) is set to expire on August 16th.
