WACKY BUT TRUE: ATM THIEVES USED WRONG TOOL... In England a team of crooks attempted to break into an ATM. It was their choice of tools that caused them trouble. Instead of using a hacksaw, or perhaps a sledgehammer, these guys used a blow torch to cut into the machine. It did the job, but it also caught the money on fire. They left empty-handed.

WACKY BUT TRUE: DON’T INSPECT A GAS TANK WITH A LIGHTER...
Three men trying to steal fuel from a farm in the Ukraine ended up setting fire to their own car. The trio had siphoned diesel fuel into a gas-driven vehicle. When their car would not start, they examined the fuel tank using a cigarette lighter. One click and the car burst into flames. The men escaped without injury.

37% OF WOMEN APPROVE OF SNOOPING THROUGH TEXTS...
Have you ever scrolled through your partner’s text messages or emails? You’re not alone. More that a third of Americans who took part in a survey said suspicious behavior warrants electronic snooping. More women than men said it was OK to spy — 37% said spying on a significant other is acceptable if “bad behavior” is suspected. Only 29% of males agreed with that statement.

WACKY BUT TRUE: BATHROOM SPIDER HUNTER SUFFERS BURNS...
In England a man was summoned by his wife to deal with a spider she had seen scurry behind the toilet. Not being able to reach it, the man decided to kill it by spraying it with an aerosol can. But he was unable to see whether the spray killed the spider because the bulb in the bathroom light had blown. So the man turned to a cigarette lighter to illuminate the room, but in the process ignited the aerosol fumes and caused an explosion. The blast was so strong it blew the man off his feet.

SKITTLES CANDY CANES COMING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON... Does it seem premature to be talking about Skittles Christmas candy? Hope not, because there’s word of Skittles Candy Canes coming later this year. The treat was unveiled as part of The Sweets & Snacks Expo that recently took place in Indianapolis . The candy canes were created to taste like the Original flavors you can find in a pack. As detailed on the packaging, each candy cane features “5 flavors in 1 cane.”

TO SEEM YOUNGER, RUB GRAPEFRUIT ON YOU... A study of smells found that the scent of grapefruit on women make them seem about six years younger to men. However, grapefruit fragrance on men does nothing for them. In the study (Smell and Taste Institute in Chicago) a researcher smeared several middle-aged woman with broccoli, banana, spearmint leaves, and lavender but none of those scents made a difference to the men. But the scent of grapefruit changed men’s perceptions. When male volunteers were asked to write down how old the woman with grapefruit odor was, the age was considerably less than reality.
