bankESB staved off elimination in the Tri-County League Baseball playoffs with a win against the Chicopee Falls Tigers in the best-of-3 series Thursday night at Bullens Field.

bankESB pitcher Joey Calderella earned a complete game victory Thursday night at Bullens Field, striking out three batters as the Westfield-based Tri-County team defeated the Chicopee Falls Tigers, 8-4, to even up the best-of-3 series 1-1.

The Westfield Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old All-Stars had the right mix of ingredients (speed, timely hitting, a pair of strong arms) for an 8-2 win over St. Johnsbury (Vermont) on opening night of the Northeast Regionals Friday night at Bullens Field.

A long and winding road culminated with a victory for the Westfield Little League 12-Year-Olds Thursday night.

It took 25 hours, 260 miles, and nine innings to complete an epic Little League 12-Year-Olds sectional opener between Westfield and Holden that unfolded over two nights in Holden, but it proved to be well worth the wait.

Westfield exploded for 10 runs over a 20-minute, first half-inning en route to a 14-2 win over Holden in four innings Monday at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

The Westfield Little League Baseball 9-Year-Olds exploded for 14 runs in the third inning en route to a mercy-shortened, 17-4 win over Longmeadow to capture the District 2 championship title early Saturday, July 13 at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

The Westfield Little League 11-Year-Olds opened sectional play with another victory.

Westfield pitchers Bobby Strange-Skribiski and Micah Dolan tossed a combined six-hitter, striking out seven batters and each went 2-for-3 at the plate to help the Whip City’s 11s hold off Holden 6-3 in their sectional opener Friday night, July 12 at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

On a hot, humid Saturday afternoon, July 6, the Westfield Little League 11-Year-Olds defeated Longmeadow 10-4 to claim the Massachusetts District 2 championship at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

The Westfield Little League Baseball 10U All-Stars celebrated their third straight victory to begin the 2024 District 2 tournament Wednesday night.

Starting pitcher Keegan Welch tossed a two-hitter, striking out five batters and the Westfield 10U All-Stars shut out Longmeadow, 11-0, in a District 2 tournament game Wednesday night at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

Starting pitcher Dustin Piper tossed a one-hitter, Jakob Elmer and Collin Taylor each went 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs as the Westfield Majors defeated Southampton, 11-1, in four innings Tuesday at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field (Cross Street).

The Westfield High School boys volleyball team is one win away from reaching its ultimate goal.

No. 1 Westfield dominated No. 5 Longmeadow in nearly every fashion, save for a few moments of mental fatigue, en route to a three-set sweep in the Division 2 boys volleyball state semifinals Monday night at Chicopee Comprehensive High School. The Bombers won 25-14, 25-19, 25-11.

It wasn't easy, but the Westfield High School boys volleyball team is Final Four bound.

Despite losing an epic 37-35 second set to No. 8 West Springfield, top-seeded Westfield took the Terriers best shot Saturday and still survived in the Division 2 boys volleyball state quarterfinals, 25-12, 37-35, 25-17, 25-23, to advance to the semifinals.
