The 7th SADC Industrialisation Week (SIW) has kicked off at the Harare International Conference Centre and is running under the theme, "Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development Towards an Industrialised SADC."

SIW is the precursor to the 44th SADC Heads of State and Government to be held on 17 August in Harare, where HE President Mnangagwa will assume Chairmanship of the regional bloc.

Prophet Walter Magaya's Gift to the Community Story by Patie T Mashiri

In a heartwarming gesture, Prophet Walter Magaya donated a brand new football kit to a local team in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. The team, which had been struggling to find the resources to purchase their own kit, was overjoyed by the generous gift.

But what made this donation even more significant was the backstory. Prophet Magaya had previously been blocked by the Chitungwiza Municipality from reviving the community soccer stadiums in the area. Despite this setback, he remained committed to giving back to the community.

Ironically, Prophet Magaya had recently opened a state-of-the-art stadium in Mozambique, dubbed The Heart Stadium. The stark contrast between the two situations only highlighted his dedication to empowering the community through sports.

As the team proudly wore their new kit, they knew they had been given more than just a set of uniforms - they had been given hope. And they vowed to make the most of it, both on and off the field.
