Ville Platte City Council Special meeting – 9-16-24

The Ville Platte City Council met last night to introduce an Ordinance authorizing the issuance by the City of Ville Platte, State of Louisiana of its Revenue Bond, Series 2024 in the amount of $10,000,000. The purpose is to buyout the concession entered into by the previous city administration that has an effective rate of 8-11% and a short amortization. Mr. Eric Lafleur reviewed some of the details. The funds are for sewer improvements and overall improvements for water, sewer and gas. This will reduce the interest rate to a more affordable level and amortize the debt over 30 years. The Ordinance will be introduced at the next City Council meeting scheduled for October 8th.
