Licensed to Utica, it broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 27 (PSIP virtual channel 33) from a transmitter at its studios on Smith Hill Road in Deerfield (the official address is Utica). The station can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 6 and in high definition on digital channel 868. Owned by the Nexstar Broadcasting Group, WFXV is sister to low-powered MyNetworkTV a

ffiliate WPNY-LP and ABC affiliate WUTR (all three share studios). The latter is actually owned by Mission Broadcasting but operated by Nexstar through local marketing and joint sales agreements. The UPD found a man bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot of Two J's bar early this morning. The victim was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead. His name is being withheld until the family can be notified. The bar was full at the time of the incident, and the UPD asks anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 223-3510. All calls are confidential.

UPDATE: The UPD has suspended their dive search for a vehicle that was seen sinking into the Mohawk River on Leland Avenue last night. Because of strong currents due to ice melt, the divers are unable to reach what a sonar system detected could be the vehicle. Police do not believe that the vehicle was occupied. They will continue to search when the weather conditions improve.

During the recent cold snap temperatures have dropped below zero. Mix that with snow and the salt on the roads can't do its job. That's why the New Hartford Highway Department has invested in a new piece of equipment that will clear the roads in even the coldest of temperatures.
