Lamont Holden joins Dialogue
Lamont Holden, professor and music producer from the U of I, joins us on the next episode of Dialogue to talk about what it's like teaching hip hop in higher academia and how he plans to keep the university open to all community members, especially through efforts like the Hip Hop Innovation Center on campus — which is something Holden has been working on with the late Dr. William Patterson and Dr. Adam Kruse.
A lot of people have been sharing their thoughts on the new #GoodTimes reboot from Netflix... we want to hear yours. Sound off in the comments.
As we all prepare to lay Dr. William Patterson (AKA Dr. P) to rest this weekend, we wanted to say some of the wonderful tributes we received on the Illinois Soul line. Feel free to share what Dr. P meant to you in the comments below. #AndItDontStop
Big congratulations to Coach Dawn Staley! With South Carolina Women's Basketball's big win recently, she became the first Black college basketball coach to win three Division I national champonships! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 🏆🏆🏆
On the highly anticipated country album ‘COWBOY CARTER,’ Beyoncé featured six Black country artists, each receiving their first debut on the US Spotify chart. Which collaboration ending up being your favorite? Sound off in the comments.
Dr. P’s legacy
Dr. P was always finding a way to merge his love of technology, media, and community service, but more importantly, he wanted children who grew up in neighborhoods like he did to know their value and see and understand their talents. #AndItDontStop
