Park Region Telephone was founded in 1906 to offer telephone services to Dalton and the surrounding area. Since that time the company has grown significantly and now employs nearly 50 people and is governed by a board of directors. er Tail Telcom, LLC was formed in 1997 after the Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed for competition in the local telephone service market. Park Region Telephone was the majority owner of Otter Tail Telcom (OTT) along with minority owner Rothsay Telephone Company. OTT is authorized to provide local telephone exchange service in Fergus Falls, Battle Lake and Henning.Valley Telephone in Browns Valley joined our family of companies in 1998 and we became the cable TV provider for the Browns Valley area in 2007. In 2016, we welcomed the opportunity to purchase Rothsay Telephone Company. With this purchase, Park Region Telephone became the sole owner of Otter Tail Telcom. Our companies are working hard to provide this region with all the communications technology available in large metro areas. Our services include a variety of telephone, computer, digital and wireless products and services.

📅 Grant Application Open Until August 15th!

The Foundation for Rural Service awards grants through the Community Grant Program up to $5,000 for nonprofit organizations in our communities doing great work. These grants are an opportunity for NTCA members to amplify the ways we are supporting our communities. These grants are designed to provide support to a variety of local efforts to build and sustain a high-quality life in rural America. The grants awarded each November support a variety of projects concentrated in four major categories:

💼 Business and Economic Development – Devise a plan to turn your community into a global phenomenon by growing small or existing businesses, developing new ones, and implementing a job creation program that attracts key talent from your community or from skilled individuals interested in relocating to small town America.

🎨 Community Development – Develop an outreach program that helps to promote advancing technology skills of your community members, incorporates innovation into learning, raises the visibility of your community’s talent and artistry, and places your town on everyone’s bucket list as the place to visit.

💻 Education – Support advances in education by helping your school’s technology (computers, smart boards, etc.) in the classroom, build resources for curriculum development, strengthen extracurricular activities and programs, and promote distance learning programs.

🌐 Telecommunications Applications – Show how you plan to turn your community into a technological powerhouse by promoting the implementation and use of broadband-enabled applications for telehealth, education, government services, safety and security, and efficient energy distribution and use.

As an NTCA member, Park Region encourages organizations in our communities to apply for the Community Grant Program. Applications for the grant program are due to the Underwood or Fergus Falls office by August 15, 2024. We are thrilled to announce more role transitions within our team at Park Region, reflecting our commitment to growth and opportunity from within our organization. These changes will enhance our operational efficiency and drive our mission to keeping our customers connected to the things that matter most.

Dave Lindgren, who has excelled as a Sales Engineer, is stepping into the role of Business Operations Manager. Dave’s deep understanding of our products and services, coupled with his strategic thinking and customer centered approach, make him an ideal fit for this position. His technical expertise and sales experience provide a unique perspective that will be invaluable in driving collaboration across the company.

Stepping into the Sales Engineer position is Bill Dennis. Bill has been a dedicated technician with our company since 2016 when we purchased Rothsay Telephone. His hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of our network infrastructure position him perfectly to transition into this customer-facing role. As a Sales Engineer, Bill will work directly with our sales team to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.

These internal promotions are a testament to the talent and dedication of our team members. At Park Region, we believe in nurturing our employees’ careers and providing pathways for growth. We are confident both Dave and Bill will excel in their roles and contribute to our continued success.
