This is the fourth suspicious fire since March 3, 2022. All of these fires have been homes or RVs that have been vacant or homes where the occupants still reside but have been gone for some time.

This is a good time to give the mountains a healthy dose of respect. Several natural and skier-triggered avalanches occurred Tuesday near Galena Summit. Avalanche conditions will remain dangerous and complex through Friday. Hot, sunny weather Wednesday will produce widespread natural avalanche activity. Large human-triggered avalanches are likely. Thursday, even warmer weather and possible rain at 10,000' in elevation will continue the threat of natural and human-triggered avalanches. Be careful, and minimize the time you spend on or below large steep slopes. Visit www.sawtoothavalanche.com to view this morning's updated General Avalanche Information product.
