What an honor it is to be nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, along with the incredibly gifted Costume Designer Suttirat Larlarb and Costume Supervisor extraordinaire Lynda Foote for our work on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Critical to the success of this show were also Cindy Rosenthal, Elise Drozdowski, Bill Traetta, Varsenik Korkhmazyan, Leigh Bell, Rob Phillips, and their teams. It was such a great privilege to assist Suttirat in bringing her vision to life, and to work with the fabulously talented artisans, tailors, sewers, textile artists, and craftspeople to create these impeccable costumes. I treasure the memories and congratulate each one of you on this wonderful recognition and a job well done.

I love to remember Prince in April. To me, April is the month that I prepared to board a plane from New York to Minneapolis and make a fresh start at Paisley Park. It’s the month that I went to a little newsstand next to a NYC subway and bought a magazine with Prince on the cover. I stood there and studied his face and clothing intensely, and I just couldn’t believe that in a few days I would meet him for real! April is excitement! April is Springtime, freshness, and green buds on the trees— whether there is snow on the ground or not. Whether there is a perceived ending or not. It’s the month when even he found a new beginning, becoming untethered from the hardships of this earth, hopefully finding peace, and setting off a chain link of miracles that has united millions of us, worldwide. Although every month is the right month to celebrate Prince, I kind of have a soft spot in my heart when April rolls around.
