Kewaskum House Fire
A family has been displaced after a house fire on Oct. 25 at 704 Moraine Court in Kewaskum. It was the home of Matthew and Jennifer Wuensch, and their two adult daughters and three grandchildren. The two youngest children are ages 2 months and 1 year, and the oldest will turn 7 tomorrow. No one was injured in the fire, but they lost most of their belongings. At tonight's boys basketball game versus Campbellsport, monetary and gift card donations will be collected for the families affected by the apartment building fire in Kewaskum last night. The varsity boys game will be held tonight at Kewaskum High School at 7:15 p.m.

Kewaskum Apartment Building Fire
On Friday, Feb. 10, at approximately 7:36 p.m., the Kewaskum Fire Department was dispatched to a fire located in the bedroom of 222 Braatz Drive Apt. #7. Kewaskum Police, along with members of the Kewaskum Fire Department, arrived on scene and attempted to stop the spread of the fire by using fire extinguishers; however, they were unsuccessful. The building sustained substantial fire and water damage to all of the eight units in the building. All residents were safely evacuated and have been in contact with the Red Cross to assist them.
One Kewaskum Fire Fighter suffered a serious medical condition on scene and was transported to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Another Kewaskum Fire Fighter was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
The Kewaskum Fire Department was assisted by the following departments: West Bend Fire Department, Campbellsport Fire Department, Kohlsville Fire Department, Fillmore Fire Department, Newburg Fire Department and Boltonville Fire Department.
The Kewaskum Police Department requested a fire investigator from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the nature and cause of the fire. The fire is still under investigation.
