The Fort Mill 10-13 Club 5K annual run-walk-ruck is Sept 7th, 2024 at Fort Mill High School. The Club’s mission is to help first responders/military and help those who support our heroes. This year’s fundraiser is "Remember Our Heroes 5K" o raise money for our 9/11 Heroes, The Charlotte Officers widows & children. The race registration is 9am and the race starts at 10 am. A new local business opened on July 10th, 2024 in the old YMCA building on Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill, SC. Well known Tega Cay residents Ryan, Carmen, and Chase Carroll opened Carroll's Ace Hardware promising to be "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks". Talk of the Town Carolinas Patti Mercer interviewed the Carroll family at a Trivia Night event at Model A Brewery. The Trivia night was a cooperative business event to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network and promote the new local Ace Hardware. Last Summer 2023 A Tega Cay, SC Blackwelder family lost their 19 month daughter Ally Kate in a drowning accident. They have created the AllyKateInc.org charitable organization to train locals life safety skills. Their first fundraising event is Feb 10, 2024 which is a Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance at the Tega Cay Glennon Center. Watch this video to find out more about the event and their story.
