Hurricane Milton makes landfall near Siesta Key with maximum sustained winds at 120mph.

It's the third hurricane to make landfall in Florida this season.

The tornado watch is canceled for much of South Florida.
rain bands will be more sporadic, drier air has filter in to the south of Milton.

Wednesday 2 p.m.: A turn to the northeast is expected later today; the hurricane will slow down a bit with this turn. Tropical storm-force winds are just offshore, and windier conditions will move onto the Peninsula. Milton is growing in size as the wind shear has started to dent the system a bit, and this is also reflected in a downward trend of the maximum sustained winds, now at 130 mph.

Milton is again a Category 5 hurricane, and it has made a turn to the northeast. Milton´s forecast still calls for a powerful hurricane to reach the west coast of Florida late Wednesday or very early Thursday.

Milton is starting to leave northern Yucatán and head to Florida. It will move a bit faster today, and the powerful hurricane will make landfall in Tampa Bay around midnight Thursday.
