It's really an honor working with Oak Grove String Band. Every year I try to pitch in to their benefit fundraiser in every way possible time permitting. But this is the first year I was able to also capture some video of their show. So I did a quick, solo, two 4k cameras, one 360 camera shoot capture.
I thought this would be a great time to expirment using my 360 video camera. I let it roll for as long as it could, an hour an nine minutes straight with wifi to a borrowed ipad. I wont use the wifi next time and see how long it rolls.
I wanted to try something new so I integrated the 360 camera some the 4K during edit. Here's the first song I put up of Tommy and his daughter Sarah performing "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce: https://youtu.be/qrC_kw300Xk.
Aside of Adobe Premiere freaking out things went really smooth. It was turture trying to match color though... I could have, should have tried, may still try try to change an over all adjustment anything else I put out from this show. Or do that on what I shoot this Friday (Daniel Donato at The Evening Muse!).
I also wanted to try out the 360 and 4K mix on my new computer build. The first hurdle was transporting the video to my computer because it would just stop stitching mid stream. I found a beta version of the next generation of their software and bam that worked, after a handful of hours trying everything else (because the beta version was burried). The beta enable 5.6K, up from 5.2K! :)
Lastly, this was a great kick off to something new, https://www.ThingsToDoInNC.com! I've been wanting to showcase things I do in NC in a directory that could potentially grow into others doing the same and resulting in a awesome directory that's, well, things to do in NC. Starting with Shelby, because that's where I liv
Oak Grove String Band Upcoming Show!
Haven't used this 360 camera in a while. It's not as high resolution as when I do 360 with my still camera but it's cool to do video with and OGSB is a great subject, esp. for this cause!
