albums on Kill Pop Tarts have received two great reviews in recent issues of The Wire, the UK's dependable source for in depth and current information about avant-music forms.

Tape Hiss is the Blow Job of Lo-Fi received a review in the August 2022 issue by Raymond Cummings that we somehow entirely missed!

And now Emily Pothast has reviewed Tales from the Elusive Hangar for the March 2023 issue, with The Necks on the cover!

Having done this thing pretty hardcore for something like 3 decades now, we are absolutely thrilled to receive the recent global recognition of what and Dead Air Fresheners transmit to the planet. While not a KPT release, Dead Air Fresheners other recent album Unfriended. (on the awesome Personal Archives imprint) was listed on WFMU's most played albums of 2022. Throw in David Camp's excellent review of The Last Asteroid in The Big Takeover and Richard Allen's write up of PA release A Collection of Drone & Noise Sea Shanties in the April 2022 A Closer Listen blog... and it has been a banner year for recognition of the Dead Air Fresheners.

The Wire reviews are reprinted in the attached pages. Short and sweet, like a 5:15 Happy Hour set.

the crows the horns of the trains the airport the port where the two rivers meet the loading and unloading amid foghorns all night long the security helicopters the rain the rain the cats fighting in heat the coyotes the Canadian geese the streetracers on Columbia the speedway on the weekends the slow grating of the brakes on the trains as they inch forwards creating a screech that is so slow it becomes a drone the rain the ice storms and winds snapping limbs the tweakers shaking the recycling bins nobody stops at Olympia and Iris and mufflers are for the weak while dozens of dogwalkers pretend not to notice the arguments in all the prefab shacks where you can hold a phone in the air and play it all baby streaming all over the fu***ng world.

Kill Pop Tarts is essentially the vanity label for our flagship band but we wanted the new album . to be on a bigger label. While still a micro-indie, Bob Bucko Jr's Personal Archives has a really exciting roster of notable artists from Bob himself, to SWL w/ mike watt, and Thollem McDonas. Bob put out and produced Dead Air Fresheners' 2016 album Fast Radio Bursts, and we love working with him because he gets it. He did not produce Unfriended., however. Having tried to work with several producers, Dead Air Fresheners ultimately decided to handle the task themselves.

With a looming release date of September 11, 2022, we're thrilled to announce that Unfriended. pre-orders are Available Now over at Personal Archives: https://personalarchives.bandcamp.com/album/unfriended

Three sample tracks from the album may be streamed now, including the first Dead Air Fresheners piece to feature the vocal sensations of Swaim in TEN YEARS, "Have You Seen Junior's Grades?" If that weren't exciting enough, the song also features guest guitar wizardry from Olympia underground metal legend Eddie Shredder AKA Pizza-T! Have a listen and place an order before the CDs sell out!

The album took the group three years to make, including during the Covid-19 lockdown. It finds the Dead Air freshened quite a bit more with noisy guitars than synth sounds this time. It is a bit like a noiserock album with plunderphonic samples as the lead vocalist. Except for when it isn't at all.

In a surprise move that the label did not anticipate the Dead Air Fresheners handed us a completed album.

Apparently they played the legendary Someday Lounge in 2006 and then accidentally took those recordings and made a collage of them with other shows that were not so carefully labelled. This stewed for sixteen years and now at last they have "resurfaced' the recordings in a new pitch altered edition.

So here it is, a one track album of at their most out, transcending time by infinite stretches.
