An Austin County Grand Jury indicted a Sealy man after he was arrested in connection with a series of crimes April 9. Joseph Mesa, 35, was indicted on deadly conduct discharge firearm and aggravated robbery during the June grand jury panel and remains in custody in the Austin County Jail.

The Wallis Historical Preservation committee helped clean the firetruck at the Wallis Fire Park. July 3. Volunteers that included Wallis Fire Chief Clay Englebracht, Patrick, Tracy, and Leander Prejean, and Molly Ladner came out to support the effort by cleaning the 1943 original firetruck owned by the Wallis Fire Department.
