Black Powder Records

Black Powder Records Anarchist printers, distro, and diy music label Black Powder Records is an informal collective that supports DIY bands within a unique musical community.

Black Powder Press is an anarchist printing and distribution collective dedicated to informing and inspiring the anarchist movement and stimulating discussions about strategy, tactics and ideas. The literature we carry spans an array of subjects from organizing in the work place to building composting toilets to the history of revolt against capitalism. We hope to make these titles accessible to a

s many people as possible, especially people who would not otherwise have access to anarchist literature. It is sad to us to live in a world where personal relationships are mediated through money, but please know the money that you contribute goes to improving the project and making anarchist literature accessible to others. Black Powder artists maintain full control over their projects and the ability to define their music outside of traditional genres. Not a record label in the traditional sense, Black Powder is a creative network that shares resources in order to generate enough fan-based to continue the creation of groundbreaking, non-commercial music.

No More Fighting cats, ok?

Help a buddy out AND get an awesome photo print. Mario has taken a bunch of Blackbird Raum pictures, if you're into that sort of thing.
From Mario:
Hello today friends,
I just got off the phone with my lawyer as it is about time to make my felony go away. I was informed that before we can proceed i need to have all of my court/probation fees paid off. I am VERY close, as the fees initially totaled close to $4000 i currently only owe $800! To get this paid off as soon as possible so i don't have to worry about going to jail because a cop pulls me over and checks my record and doesnt like what he sees, i am offering any photograph i've taken as a print at a donation cost of sliding scale starting at cost of printing times two (so if it costs $8 to print, donation starts at $16 etc.) for the most part you'll have to limit requests to film photos as my hard drive has gone the way of the dodo. For print costs, refer to the custom print pricing on www.lookingglassphoto.com
To look at my work, please visit www.nomorefightingcatsok.tumblr.com
For requests, you can email me at [email protected]

Our goal is to collect $2,500 by the end of summer. It's part of our mission to provide a community space outside the realm of commerce. Your donations help SubRosa to stay open. SubRosa is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) non-profit .

Book Wish Lists

Sending books to prisoners is a great way to show support and make someone's day a little bit better. And you don't have to buy those books on Amazon, even though that's an easy way for people to compile lists. Consider buying books from us or from littleblackcart
http://nycabc.wordpress.com/book-wish-lists/

We recently noticed that the support crews of many political prisoners are taking advantage of maintaining online book wish lists for the folks they support. We’ve compiled this list so that you ca...

Madrone Cancer Society of America Fund

Madrone, a collective member and driving force here at BP Press, was diagnosed with cancer last week. If you have ever bought a zine from BP, Madrone was the guy who printed it for you. He's starting an in-patient chemo regime on monday, and won't be able to work his regular job for a while, much less do all the stuff he usually does for BP. Show your appreciation for the energy Madrone has put into this project, and help an anarchist out, by sending some dollars his way. Thanks!

The Madrone Cancer Society of America Fund is a group that has been established to help facilitate paying our dear friend Madrone's medical bills for his cancer treatment. Insurance will pay 80% of all of his procedures and treatments, leaving Madrone to pay the remaining 20%. The yearly maximum he…

Support the 2013 Fall Caravan in Solidarity with Indigenous Resistance Communities of Black Mesa

There's plenty of ways to donate to the Dineh elders and families living in Black Mesa. If you are in Santa Cruz, you can donate supplies by getting in touch with the Santa Cruz Indigenous Solidarity folks. If you want to donate some digital money, follow this link. All of this money will go directly to the families.

All funds will go directly to purchasing supplies, tools, food, and building materials for Dineh (Navajo) elders and families at Big Mountain who are in their fourth decade of resisting forced relocation and coal strip mining on their ancestral lands. Donated funds will *not* be used to cover gas/tr...

Fearless Summer

CLICK LIKE if you're ready to for a summer of solidarity against extreme energy - in which we refuse to trade one communities suffering for another. In which we celebrate any community that bans fracking - but we know that that's part of a larger struggle to heal the mountains of Appalachia, and hold back the hellish landscape of Northern Alberta. And we're not just in a fight against fossil fuels—We know that no victory is won in which we stop pumping out carbon while turning another community into a sacrifice zone with nuclear, big biomass, or mega hydro.

This Summer we rise together--and start to show what a movement looks like when we all have each other's back.

Check out the awesome list of actions to kick off the summer next week: http://wearefearlesssummer.tumblr.com/june
