It has been a steady climb for San Luis Obispo-based TRIC Robotics.

Originally founded in Idaho by CEO Adam Stager, TRIC decided to move to San Luis Obispo in large part because of Cal Poly University’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Small Business Development Center — a decision that has come to pay dividends.

From securing some of its first clients in the nearby area to securing some venture capital funding to competing at Cal Poly’s prestigious AngelCon, TRIC has seen some highs.

However, none might be higher than the company accepting the 2024 Cal Poly CIE Small Business Development Center Business of the Year Award for their significant business and technology achievements.

When I visited with Westmont College President Gayle Beebe for Episode 2 of our “Civil Dialogues” podcast, America’s campuses were in a state of upheaval.

The second episode of Civil Dialogues is out NOW!

In this episode, our guest Gayle Beebe discusses what it’s like to be a leader in turbulent times. Beebe is beginning his 18th year as president of Westmont College in Montecito, California. In Episode 2, host Henry Dubroff visits with Beebe on the current crisis in academia, on developing ways to foster constructive conversations on controversial issues and his vision for the future of Westmont. Their discussion is framed by his new book and his personal experiences in surviving the deadly Montecito debris flows and leading the campus through the COVID-19 pandemic.
