This RARE, pre-Beatle demo reminded me of a couple my very young band made around 1966. One record had three songs and one had two songs. We were 12 and 13 yr olds, and they were just covers we were playing in a four piece.
I had them around for twenty years or more – and would love to know what happened to them .. left in an attic or basement somewhere.
The recordings weren't very dimensional, just a little more rounded out than a phone call. These discs were VERY heavy, just an acetate(?) coated metal plate cut live on the record cutting lathe. Really a special memory.

My brother Jim came down from NC to spend the day in the studio with me, working on some tracks and collaborating on some arrangement details. Of course we worked hard, got the job done, and as always, had a blast doing it.

“All By Myself” by Eric Carmen may be one of the most beautiful songs ever written with the incredible piano solo based on Rachmaninoff’s “piano concerto No. 2! The actual single never really showed off Eric’s amazing piano skills, but if you check out the album cut it’s exceptional!

It’s so very sad that Eric passed away, but his amazing repertoire lives on forever and it’s a great one! Rest in Peace Eric!

Very sad. Eric and his songs really inspired me. He and the Raspberries were underrated due to their power pop category.

At this time in 1972, Badfinger's third album was released on Apple Records, following Magic Christian and No Dice, one of my favorites to this day. Many more to come, but Wish You Were Here was the final for the original line up in 1974.
Another masterpiece.

Added a special LP to my small, (mostly original issue) vintage vinyl. This one is new, but from a vintage guitar hero, Joey Molland of Badfinger. I provided some of his album and promo photography in the past, which is cool, but this album, wonderfully produced by Mark Hudson, showcases some of Joe's best work. A great CD too, this is a fine add. (-:

In the late '90's in our smaller URM Studio, (the new one would be built in 2006), we took our time working on our personal projects between client work. That's when these video clips were made. Rick Morris did his "Purpose" and "Another Year" albums, Laura Nelson Kelly did her first solo "Never Look Back",and second album while I worked on mine (not yet finished!). It is "back on the board" though, a third time, for a fresh remix.

Pete Ham of Badfinger - Early 1970's. Fantastic writer and singer with guitar skills that were in the same league as any of the Icons of guitar. Gone too soon in 1974 at just 27.
