EXPANDED: Red Flag Warnings now include northern Utah beginning at noon today through 9pm. Winds of 10-20 mph are expected with gusts to 30 mph. Winds are slightly stronger down south and hang on through 9pm Thursday. Avoid anything that may start a new wildfire.

MONDAY: A cold front moving thru N Utah bringing relief from high heat over the weekend and a slight chance of storms. Highs will be cooler than normal in N. Utah. Inc. winds over SW Utah is leading to high fire danger as well with critical fire conditions thru 9pm.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is in effect for NE. Millard and SE Juab Counties, including Nephi, Levan, Leamington, Mills, and Sahara State Park until 9:45
Quarter sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible with this storm that is moving NE at 30 mph

***UPDATE - June 28 - 9:05 a.m. - Kane Creek Boulevard is open to traffic. The roadway is muddy, so please use caution.***

***UPDATE: 6:20 p.m. - Kane Creek Boulevard is closed to through-traffic until crews can clear the road.

All other city streets and U.S. 191 are now open. ***

***UPDATE: 5:46 p.m. - U.S. 191 north and southbound lanes are now reopened. It will take some time for the backed up traffic to move through, but vehicles are moving now. ***

***UPDATE: 5:27 p.m. - U.S. 191 at Arches National Park road remains closed while crews clear the mudslide on the road. A second mudslide has also occurred north of this area.***

CORRECTION: U.S. 191 at Arches road is completely closed in both direction as crews work to clear a mudslide.

***UPDATE - 4:23 p.m.
550 N Main at Stewart Canyon - Water over the road. Travel restricted to one lane.

THURSDAY: Upgraded severe weather risk for eastern Utah with a 'Slight' risk for scattered severe thunderstorms. Strong wind gusts and damaging hail are the biggest threat. Portions of I-15 included in the threat along C. Utah. Travel could be tricky this afternoon.

MONDAY: Happy Monday, Utah! High heat remains in place today with isolated thunderstorms across southern Utah. Temperatures climb to the upper 90's along the Wasatch Front, to 106 for St. George. Flash flooding remains possible to probable for many recreational areas.

The amount of water that fell in Moab, #Utah from a flash flood this evening led this kayaker to this & led Jimmy Peterson to grab his camera....... No, we don't recommend recreating in flood waters and this storm wreaked havoc in a small window of a half hour... #utwx @abc4utah
