FIRE ENGULFS RESIDENTIAL BUILDING AND RV IN SACRAMENTO, NO INJURIES REPORTED
SACRAMENTO, Calif.(PSN)— Firefighters battled a significant blaze in Sacramento County Friday morning, which engulfed a residential building and an RV, but no injuries were reported, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.
The fire, reported just before 8 a.m. in the 6000 block of Rio Linda Blvd in the Rio Linda neighborhood, sent a massive smoke column into the sky, visible even from Folsom. Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn stated, "Crews arrived to a well-involved residential building and an occupied RV. Thankfully, everyone was out, and no injuries were reported."
The area's limited municipal water supply posed challenges for the firefighting efforts. "The closest hydrant was about 800 feet away from the pumping engine, so crews had to develop a relay system through several engines to continue suppression efforts," Wilbourn explained in a media release.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Investigations are ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.

SACRAMENTO STANDOFF ENDS TRAGICALLY WITH SUSPECT DEAD AND HOUSE ABLAZE
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A domestic violence incident escalated to a deadly standoff early Sunday morning, resulting in a fire and the death of a man in Sacramento, authorities said.
According to Sgt. Amar Gandhi of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a distress call at a home on Arleta Court around midnight. "We were able to get the victim and several other family members and guests safely out of the house," Gandhi stated. He confirmed the suspect was alone inside and believed to be armed with a knife.
Negotiations ensued as deputies attempted to persuade the man to surrender peacefully. "He refused to come out and threatened to stab folks," Gandhi added, noting the suspect's threats intensified the situation.
The standoff took a dangerous turn when the suspect allegedly set the residence on fire. In response, law enforcement used rubber shotgun rounds as they tried to apprehend him through the garage. "Fire got too hot. We backed out," Gandhi explained, describing the rapidly escalating danger.
Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn of the Sacramento Metro Fire Department reported that both Metro Fire and Sacramento City Fire crews were dispatched to the scene. "Heavy fire was reported from the front of the house," said Wilbourn. Firefighters managed to rescue the individual, who was later pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital under CPR.
Currently, fire crews are investigating the premises for residual fires and working closely with the Sheriff's Office to determine the fire's origin and cause. "We'll be working with our partners, with Sacramento County Sheriff's to figure out the cause and the origin," Wilbourn said.
Reflecting on the events, Gandhi emphasized the deputies' commitment to resolving such incidents pea
