Curriculum on Hmong American history and culture, the Vietnamese American refugee experience, the Cambodian genocide, and Native American studies, will soon be taught in select school districts in California. The lessons will offer students a better understanding of history and culture.

Most people don't know that there is a law that gives them the right to ask for an interpreter, at no cost to them, when they are visiting their healthcare providers. Immigrant communities, including the Hmong community are at grave risk of receiving lower quality services and even death when they don't have assistance in their primary language. Twenty-six million people and almost 3 million in California are impacted by their inability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Chaly Goes to See the Doctor: Tshaj Lij Mus Ntsib Tus Kws Kho Mob, is a new children's book written by Twin Cities doctor, Chee Vang. Vang hopes the book will help children overcome their fear of visiting the doctor while they learn medical terms in Hmong and English.

Nyob Zoo Xyoo Tshiab! I am filled with gratitude for 2024 as we celebrate Hmong Daily News’ impactful stories from imported ancient Hmong Bobtail dogs from Vietnam to Suni Lee in Paris. From the declaration of Hmong American Day in California and learning about Maj. Vang Kha and his last flight in Laos to getting to know Bee Vang—his upbringing and acting career. We recently learned about “Bitterroot” featuring the Hmong community in Missoula, MT and many others.

Fresno detectives are looking for information on a husband and wife facing multiple charges of child s*x abuse. Robinson Thao and Lily Chang were arrested on December 13th. Chang is out on bail and Thao is still in custody.
