city, county, special district, township, and state infrastructure managers. It was launched to enable those employed by state and local governments to share their successes planning, designing, building, and maintaining their community’s infrastructure as the nation expanded from east to west, emerged from World War II a superpower, and began correcting the subsequent degradation of air and water

quality. The brand was acquired by Hanley Wood Business Media in 2003 and today reaches more than 65,000 people in print and electronic formats. Most people in a developed country like the United States take public works for granted until there’s a failure — a water main breaks or a bridge collapses — even though infrastructure assets represent their community’s single largest taxpayer-funded investment. Our audience must meet ever-changing federal and state regulations while competing with more visible public services, like police and fire, for funding. We develop original content including annual budget and salary surveys, an annual list of the engineering firms most involved in nonfederal-government construction, a buyers’ guide, and an online archive of issues going back to January 2005.
