The legendary career of Halls High School softball Coach Teresa Moore ends in heartbreak as the Lady Tigers fell to Wayne County, 3-2, in an elimination game at the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro. Halls scored in the top of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead, but Wayne County countered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to get the win.
Carlee Riddick pitched well, going five and one-thirds innings, allowing just three hits and three runs, with just two of those earned. She walked two and struck out three in her outing. Senior Haley Gamblin pitched two-thirds of an inning, striking out one.
Maddie Turnbow walked once and scored a run, while Gamblin added a hit and a walk. Addy Brodie had two hits and an RBI for Halls, while Mya Brown scored a run, added a hit and a walk for HHS. Ashton Hardy had a hit, and Katie Powell had a hit, a walk, and an RBI.
Moore now retires as the program's far and away most successful coach, with the Lady TIgers' field at Crihfield Park named in her honor.
