Reno's Morning News Pet of the Week Meet Tony! Nevada Humane Society

Tony is a ten-year-old taking on the world as a blind pup. He has been at the shelter off and on since December. This senior sweetheart is a great leash walker as he bravely explores new places using his other senses. He’s learned to navigate with the help of his walker friends and enjoys all the attention. He’s become quite the fan favorite in Reno and Carson City. This survivor hasn’t let his hurdles overwhelm his sweet personality. His tail is always wagging!

Tony needs to meet resident dogs before joining the family. He is unknown with cats. He doesn’t love surprises but LOVES treats.

Tony is available for adoption through our Carson City Campus. He’s been spending some time out of the shelter in a foster home, so give them a call to set up a meeting with him. They can be reached at 775-887-2171 and are located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City. We’re open 11:00a-6:30p daily!

Meet Denver - Our Affectionate Pet of the Week!
Denver is a lovely senior lady who's 10.5 years old. And guess what? Her adoption fee is waived because she's a senior (yay!). Denver has stolen the hearts of our volunteers and staff with her affectionate nature. She adores people, will shower you with licks, and loves snuggles, back scratches, and going on walks.
Denver is crate and potty trained, and is also looking for a loving home to enjoy her golden years. Sadly, she's had a tough time finding her perfect match. Denver has been in and out of our Reno shelter since last summer, having been adopted and then found as a stray twice. Most recently, she was adopted but returned.
While Denver adores people, she is not fond of other dogs, and is reactive towards them. She does need to be the only dog in the home. Her experience with cats is unknown. She has lived with children previously.
Denver is available for adoption! Come meet her at 2825 Longley Lane, 7 days a week, 11am-6:30pm...it will be love at first lick!

Reno's Morning News Pet of the Week, meet Zero! Nevada Humane Society

Zero is a nearly 4-year-old guy who was surrendered to us in back in February.
This sweet boy loves walks, playing fetch, and lying on the couch. The quickest way to win this boy over is TREATS!
He is crate-trained, house-trained, and walks pretty well on leash! Smart boy!
He can get bored and then overexcited, so lots of physical and mental activity is going to be a must in his new home.
Zero has lived with kids and dogs before and was very playful with them. He will need to meet any dogs that live in the house. He also lived with cats, while they weren't best friends, they were tolerant of one another.
The best news of all is that Zero's adoption fee has been waived this week!

Reno’s Morning News Pet of the Week. Meet Zeus!

Zeus is an 8-month-old pup that has been in and out of the shelter for the past couple of months.
He is looking for either a foster home for a break from the shelter or a permanent home.
In the shelter, he has been a bit stressed, which leads to some hyperactivity in the kennel.
From previous homes, we know that he is a sweet boy who loves toys, treats, and being right by his person's side!
He is crate-trained and only pulls a little bit on a leash. He is smart and still working on commands.
He is playful with other dogs and strangers. He will need to meet any other dogs that live in the home. We are unsure how he feels about kids or cats.
The best news is that his fee is waived this week!

Reno’s Morning News Pet of the Week. Meet Benjamin!

Benjamin is a 6-year-old gentleman who came to us as a stray from Washoe County a little over a month ago.
He is a sweet boy who loves car rides, hikes, chewing on toys, and playing in the water!
He has gone on a Dog Date and truly had the best time. This is where we have gotten some of the really great information about him.
He is a good walker, but can sometimes get a little excited. He listens really well and is practicing some new commands.
He is super friendly with all the people he has met so far. He needs to meet any dogs currently living in the home. We are unsure how he feels about cats.
The best news is that his fee is waived this week!

Reno’s Morning News Pet of the Week. Meet Valkerye

Valkerye is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix who came to our Carson City campus after her owner could not keep her due to landlord issues.
She is one sweet puppy! She loves to play and be around people that she knows.
She is a little nervous about strangers, but she recovers quickly, especially with the aid of treats!
A home with the patience to teach her that strangers are okay is going to be the key to her success.
She has lived with kids previously and loved playing with them. She has also had great interactions with dogs, although it takes her a minute to warm up. She will need to meet any dogs and children that currently live in the home.

Reno's Morning News Pet of the Week. Meet Max! Nevada Humane Society

Max is a 3-year-old guy who came to us in mid-February from WCRAS.
This guy wants to be the center of attention in the kennels with lots of loud barks! Once you get past the chatterbox exterior, you have a sweet and goofy cuddle bug.
Max got to go on a Dog Date where he rode in a car, hiked and ran, practiced commands, and to end a perfect date, got a pup cup!
Max needs to meet any dogs that currently live in the home. We don't have any information on how he feels about cats.
The best news is that Max's adoption fee has been waived this week!

Reno’s Morning News Pet of the Week. Meet Macy!

Macy is a 6-year-old gal who has been at our Carson City shelter since the end of January.
Her owner at the time was not able to have animals any longer.
She is looking for a relaxed home! She likes to take short walks and hang with her people.
She needs to meet any dogs that are currently in the home. She can be a bit dog-selective, so we want to make sure that they will get along before she heads home. She has had really great interactions with kids in the past.
