After surviving a tough-shooting night in its regional semifinal win against Medomak Valley, the top-seeded and unbeaten Oceanside Mariners – and especially sharpshooter Carter Galley – returned to their high-scoring ways with a flourish Friday afternoon, routing second-seeded Lincoln Academy 73-48 at a jam-packed Portland Expo.

Mt. Abram strolled to a 70-33 victory over Carrabec in the Class C South semifinals. The win put the Roadrunners within one win of their first-ever regional title and state final berth. Payton Mitchell led the way with 23 points and eight rebounds. It's tourney time .. where upsets happen! The fourth-seeded Madison girls basketball team stunned top seed North Yarmouth Academy Thursday in the Class C South semifinals. The final score was 47 to 37.

Scarborough's Caroline Hartley hit a three-point shot to give Scarborough a 16-6 lead over South Portland during the Class AA South girls' semifinal on Wednesday. With a 36-31 win, No. 3 Scarborough (15-5) moves on to the regional final Saturday night at Cross Arena.

Noble made history on Tuesday by becoming the state’s first girls team champion at the Maine State Girls Wrestling Championship. “It’s amazing (to be champions),” said Hannah Perro, one of four first-place finishers for the Knights. “Last year, I was the only girl that competed in states from Noble. This year, we had six come with us, so it’s amazing.
