On the nights leading up to May 23, 2010, just as these nights are leading up us into May 2024....I heard a whisper from an unknown voice say, "Do you feel it?" Each night the whisper grew louder as more voices joined in..."Do you feel it? Do you feel it?"
These voices grew in number, until the whisper could no longer be contained, and it turned into a pounding, a rhythm, a beating of their combined hearts. It became a roar. A ROAR!
A ROAR! of women united in their voice, in their drive, their desire, their mission to protect not only their own lives, but the lives of their families, their children, other women's children, and their planet.
Men, good men, joined in with the rhythm. As the numbers grew, the ROAR! could no longer be silenced. It overpowered the powerful who were doing harm. The ROAR! of NO MORE! and ENOUGH! led the charge for change.
For when women gather, the world will shift on its axis and be turned toward the light---the light of goodness, of kindness, of love. This was the promise of the voices I heard many years ago.

On the night of May 23, 2010, when the voices became too loud and too many to keep sleeping, I woke up! I woke up to the powerful, changing, inspiring words of ROAR! Artist Manon Doyle was also hearing the call and awakened to her desire to paint what she heard, felt, experienced. This book is the result of all those voices.
